Background / History
Rocks arrived at God Valley with the Rocks Pirates during the Celestial Dragons’ Human Hunting Game. His landing force, including Whitebeard, Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, and Shiki, overwhelmed the Marines defending the island. 1 2
During the destruction of the Davy Tribe settlement, Rocks rescued two children from demonized tribesmen before racing home to find his wife, Alice, and son, Marshall D. Teach. He found Lin Nuo holding off multiple demons while protecting them, then destroyed the attackers and thanked Lin Nuo sincerely. 5
Rocks recognized that Lin Nuo’s arrival and rescue of his family were too convenient to be accidental. After confronting him, he accepted Lin Nuo into his fleet as an apprentice crewman, while insisting that saving Alice and Teach did not exempt him from proving himself. Rocks immediately assigned him to escort them safely to the ship. 6
Figarland Garling’s forces ambushed the group soon afterward. Rocks stayed behind to confront the God’s Knights and demonized members of his own tribe, allowing Lin Nuo to escape with Alice and Teach. 6
At the height of the God Valley battle, Rocks joined Whitebeard, Linlin, Kaido, Roger, Garp, Rayleigh, and Gaban against Imu. Although he initially restrained himself because of his promise to protect the Davy Family, Imu’s threats against the tribe drove him into a reckless assault. 9 10
When Lin Nuo was left unconscious and Kuma could not use his Devil Fruit under Imu’s Haki suppression, Rocks used his remaining strength to create an opening for Lin Nuo’s escape. His Abyssal Finale: God Burial weakened Imu’s suppression long enough for Kuma to repel Lin Nuo away from God Valley. 13
After surviving the incident, Rocks resurfaced in the West Blue, attacked a secret World Government prison, freed more than three hundred dangerous prisoners, and declared his intention to rebuild the Rocks Pirates and reclaim Beehive Island. He subsequently reunited with Kaido and Linlin, who helped establish the revived crew. 26 28
Rocks later fought through Marine forces while traveling through the Grand Line and the Florian Triangle. He attempted to persuade his old friend Harald, king of Elbaf, to join a rebellion against the Celestial Dragons, but Harald refused and chose to fight him to protect Elbaf from another war. 40 69
At Sabaody Archipelago, Rocks reunited with Alice, Teach, and Lin Nuo. He formally offered Lin Nuo a place in his crew and any reward he desired, but Lin Nuo declined official membership in favor of forming an alliance between independent pirate crews. Rocks accepted the Pirate Alliance while retaining his own independence and authority. 131 132 133
Appearance
Rocks is a burly, bear-like man with wild blue-and-white hair, a lightning-shaped facial scar, and an imposing presence. He commonly wears a captain’s coat or cape and carries a curved blade. 5 28 40 69
- Wild blue-and-white hair. 28 40 69

Personality
Rocks is ambitious, confrontational, and intensely confident. He seeks to overturn the World Government and kill Imu, treating overwhelming opposition as something to be crushed rather than avoided. 3 40
Beneath his ruthless public image, he is deeply protective of the Davy Tribe and his family. The massacre of his people enraged him, while threats against Alice, Teach, and the Davy family repeatedly pushed him to act recklessly against Imu. 5 9
He is also perceptive and direct in dealing with allies. Rocks saw through Lin Nuo’s hidden motives almost immediately, but chose to recruit him and judge him by strength and merit rather than reject him outright. 6
Rocks respects strength, self-determination, and bold ambition. Although he accepted Lin Nuo’s Pirate Alliance proposal, he made clear that he would not blindly follow orders without either a worthwhile benefit or defeat at Lin Nuo’s hands. 133
His appetite for battle remains immense, but concern for Alice, Teach, and his followers can temper his aggression. At Sabaody, he accepted Lin Nuo’s more cautious strategy after being reminded of the dangers of repeating God Valley. 135
Abilities & Skills
Conqueror’s Haki
Rocks possesses exceptionally powerful Conqueror’s Haki, which he channels through his blade as black-red lightning and destructive shockwaves. He is capable of advanced Conqueror’s Haki infusion and can merge it with high-level Armament Haki to overwhelm other elite fighters. 5 113
- Destroyed demonized Davy tribesmen with a Haki-infused slash. 5
- Repelled attacks from God’s Knights while shielding Lin Nuo, Alice, and Teach. 6
- Fought alongside Whitebeard, Linlin, Kaido, Roger, Garp, Rayleigh, and Gaban in a combined assault against Imu. 10
- His final strike temporarily disrupted Imu’s Haki suppression, creating the opening Kuma needed to send Lin Nuo away. 13
- Prolonged use against Imu left him severely injured and exhausted. 9 13
- Matched Harald’s Conqueror’s Haki in a clash powerful enough to disperse the surrounding fog, split the clouds, and incapacitate weaker combatants. 69
- Effortlessly repelled Kaido’s full-force Conqueror’s Haki attack by combining flowing Armament Haki with a more advanced Conqueror’s infusion. 113
- Held off Steel Bone Kong and Saint Saturn long enough for Lin Nuo to prepare his Thunder God transformation. 143
- Resonated his Haki with Lin Nuo’s during a joint assault that drove Steel Bone Kong back and visibly injured him. 143
Swordsmanship
Rocks fights with a curved blade, combining swordsmanship with overwhelming Haki.
- Abyssal Fang — A Haki-coated slash that annihilated several demons threatening Alice and Teach. 5
- Abyssal Finale: God Burial — His all-out attack against Imu; it disrupted her Haki field but failed to defeat her. 13
- Abyssal Curse — A Haki-powered sword strike used against Garp during the Marine blockade. 40
- Can coat even an ordinary longsword in advanced Armament and Conqueror’s Haki, using precise control to neutralize Kaido’s superior physical force. 113
- Delivered an overwhelming Conqueror’s Haki-infused slash that forced Lin Nuo to activate his Lunarian flames, regenerative fire, Armament Haki, Iron Body, Lightning Barrier, and Black Blade: Yoru simultaneously to survive. 132
Leadership and Combat Judgment
Rocks commands through forceful confidence and decisive action.
- Formally rebuilt the Rocks Pirates after freeing more than three hundred dangerous prisoners from a World Government prison. 26 28
- Took command of the joint attack on Imu despite fighting beside traditional enemies such as Roger and Garp. 10
- Prioritized evacuating Alice, Teach, and Lin Nuo before committing his remaining strength to battle. 6 13
- Successfully led his rebuilt crew through Marine blockades and into the Grand Line, drawing major Marine attention away from smaller pirate groups. 40 46
- Accepted the Pirate Alliance framework proposed by Lin Nuo, joining a coalition in which member crews retain their own territories, resources, and ambitions. 133
- Ordered the allied pirate fleet to evacuate Sabaody Archipelago for Fish-Man Island after the battle against the Marines and World Government forces. 150

Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Curved blade — His primary weapon, used to channel powerful Haki attacks. 5 6
- Captain’s coat/cape — Worn during major engagements. 7 40 69
- Ordinary longsword — Used during Kaido’s Haki training, demonstrating that Rocks’s mastery rather than the weapon itself determines the destructive power of his strikes. 113
Relationships
- Alice — Wife. Rocks risked his life to reach her during the Davy Tribe massacre and entrusted her safety to Lin Nuo during the God Valley ambush. After their reunion at Sabaody, Alice and Teach remained with Rocks as he continued his campaign. 5 6 132 174
- Marshall D. Teach — Young son. Rocks is fiercely protective of Teach and later learns that Lin Nuo kept him safe after God Valley. 5 28
- Lin Nuo — Former apprentice crewman and later described as Rocks’s partner. Rocks recruited him after he saved Alice and Teach, exhausted his strength to enable Lin Nuo’s escape from God Valley, and later recognized his growth through a sparring match. Although Lin Nuo refused formal membership in the Rocks Pirates, the two became founding partners in the Pirate Alliance. 6 13 46 132 133 143
- Whitebeard — Powerful ally and former subordinate. Whitebeard repeatedly fought beside Rocks against Imu and later supported him after his final strike failed. Though they now lead separate groups, their shared experience at God Valley leaves a lasting bond. 9 13 124 147
- Charlotte Linlin — Key ally in the rebuilt Rocks Pirates. She supplied Rocks with Marine intelligence concerning Lin Nuo and Alice, participated in the Pirate Alliance, and fought alongside its members at Sabaody. 28 133 141
- Kaido — Key ally in the rebuilt Rocks Pirates. Kaido admits he intends to eventually form his own force, but values fighting alongside Rocks for the time being. He also seeks Rocks’s instruction in advanced Conqueror’s Haki infusion. 28 113
- Monkey D. Garp — Rival with a complicated history at God Valley. Rocks later offered Garp a chance to withdraw during their Marine blockade clash and resumed their unfinished conflict at Sabaody. 40 137
- Gol D. Roger — Former enemy and uneasy ally. Their cooperation against Imu at God Valley transformed their relationship into one of mutual recognition, and they later fought together against the World Government at Sabaody. 10 13 113 147
- King Harald — Old friend and king of Elbaf. Rocks tried to recruit Harald into his anti-Celestial Dragon rebellion, but Harald chose to oppose him to protect Elbaf from war. 69
- Steel Bone Kong — Major Marine adversary. Kong defeated and seriously wounded Rocks with Steel Bone: Sea Suppression at Sabaody, but Rocks later joined Lin Nuo in a counterattack that injured and repelled him. 141 143
- Silver Axe, Babel, and Captain John — Former Rocks Pirates officers who became associated with Lin Nuo’s group after God Valley. Rocks does not resent their departure, viewing his old crew as a collection of people united by strength and mutual interest rather than permanent loyalty. 97 104 125 133
- Imu — Primary enemy. Imu specifically seeks to erase the Davy bloodline and uses threats against Rocks’s family to provoke him. 6 9 11

Trivia
- Rocks’s family name is presented inconsistently as Davy D. Xebec and Rocks D. Zebek. 5 26
- He considers strength and merit essential even for those who have earned his gratitude; Lin Nuo’s rescue of his family did not exempt him from apprenticeship evaluation. 6
- Despite his fearsome reputation, Rocks personally carries the exhausted Lin Nuo after the defense of Alice and Teach. 5
- Rocks does not regard the departure of former officers such as Silver Axe, Babel, and John as a personal betrayal, believing that people joining and leaving his crew is natural for a group built on power and mutual interests. 133
- Although he initially wanted Lin Nuo as an official crew member, Rocks accepted an equal Pirate Alliance instead of forcing him into subordination. 132 133
