The pirate ship that Zephyr had chased into a panic had already closed to within fifty meters.
The pirates aboard all wore savage expressions.
"Throw the grappling hooks! Hurry!"
The captain waved his curved blade and roared, "Catch that civilian ship! Take hostages! This is our only way out!"
The pirates hurriedly threw out ropes fitted with iron hooks.
Seven or eight grappling hooks tore through the air, clanging onto White Shell's railings.
The captain grabbed a rope first, about to swing over—
"Hey, hey, you didn't even buy a ticket, and you think you can just come aboard?"
Moria's voice rang out.
He stood by the rail, flicking his short blade.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
The three thickest grappling ropes snapped at once.
The pirates who had been tugging on the ropes, ready to use them to leap across, immediately lost their balance and fell into the sea with screams.
Moria tilted his head and looked at the remaining hooks.
He did not continue cutting them.
Instead, he whistled.
Four figures emerged from the shadows on deck.
First came the three zombie swordsmen—Gerlo, Fera, and Dorum—along with... a headless zombie.
It was the body of the Cipher Pol agent Kuma had originally sent flying. Since its head had been lent to Fera, its neck was completely bare.
Moria controlled it with his shadow and had it walk toward the last intact grappling hook.
"Go."
At his command.
The four zombies leaped along that lone grappling rope and boarded the pirate ship.
Every pirate aboard was instantly dumbfounded.
"M-M-Monsters—!!"
No one knew who screamed first, but the entire deck immediately erupted into chaos.
As they lost their wits in terror, the four zombies had already boarded.
Gerlo kicked the nearest pirate away and bellowed:
"Don't move! All of
