Ch. 121World
Summary
- By morning, Trebol has spent the night using his mucus to patch Spider Miles’s damaged streets and buildings. Exhausted and visibly weakened, he falls asleep against Diamante.
- Rosinante wakes in the house to find Doflamingo sitting nearby. Doflamingo embraces him with restrained relief, and Rosinante senses a subtle change in his brother, though he cannot explain it.
- The brothers leave and meet Vergo, Trebol, Diamante, and Pica, who are exhausted but stand together when they see Doflamingo. Doflamingo tells them they are leaving; they follow without asking questions.
- From a tower, Vice Admiral Rock watches them depart with interest, wondering what Doflamingo will become. A report arrives that his target has been located, and Rock immediately heads out.
- The scene shifts to the World Pirates’ ship, pursued by a Marine warship. Captain Byrnndi World, a destructive pirate with the More-More Fruit, wants to attack. His vice-captain and trusted brother, Byjack, recognizes the pursuer as Rear Admiral Sakazuki and notices a child aboard whose face seems familiar. World dismisses the danger and orders his crew to bring their ship alongside the Marines.
Character developments and interactions
Doflamingo’s embrace suggests a change in his attitude toward Rosinante, while Rosinante responds with trust and comfort. The four followers’ exhausted but eager reunion with Doflamingo reinforces their loyalty; he remains outwardly curt, yet his brief look at them hints at feeling beneath the cold manner. Rock watches Doflamingo with curiosity but leaves to pursue his own mission. Byjack is cautious and observant, in contrast to World’s arrogance and eagerness for confrontation.
Significant themes
The chapter juxtaposes recovery and looming conflict: Spider Miles begins to heal, but larger dangers are gathering. It also emphasizes loyalty and fragile family bonds, especially among Doflamingo, Rosinante, and their followers. Rock’s speculation and the approaching Marine confrontation frame the characters’ futures as diverging paths shaped by choices and fate.
