Roommate's Fury: Why Did You Sell Me a Fake Ticket?
The ticket had been torn in half and thrown onto the floor.
Beside it, Liu Qing sat on his bed, his face full of fury. The moment he saw Lin Yuan, he stood up without a word and harshly demanded an explanation.
"Why did you give me a fake ticket? Do you know I've completely lost face because of you?!"
Today, he had eagerly given Lin Qingyue's concert ticket to his girlfriend, only for her best friend, who happened to be there, to recognize it at a glance as a Diamond Concert ticket.
These concert tickets were extremely hard to get, limited in number, and outrageously expensive.
Liu Qing knew Lin Yuan's circumstances well. How could he possibly have gotten a ticket like that?
There was no need to think about it. It had to be fake.
His girlfriend had been furious and viciously scolded him. He had made her lose face in front of her best friend, and she had even threatened to break up with him.
Liu Qing had left in utter humiliation, unable to keep his own dignity either. He had completely lost face in front of his girlfriend.
He had been burning with rage, so he went straight to the dorm to wait for Lin Yuan to return from class and ask him face-to-face why he had used a fake ticket to fool him.
"The ticket is real. If you don't believe it, find someone to verify it." Lin Yuan looked at the two halves of the ticket on the floor, expressionless.
He had originally meant well. They were roommates, after all, so he had considered it a favor.
Yet his kindness had gone unappreciated. The Diamond Concert ticket he had sold cheaply had been mistaken for a fake.
Faced with Liu Qing's accusations, Lin Yuan remained cold. Their roommate relationship had come to an end in just a few short exchanges.
"Real? Heh." Liu Qing laughed in anger. "Do you think I don't know what kind of family you come from? You eat cheap food in the cafeteria, and everything you wear and use is cheap domestic stuff. Where the hell did you get a ticket like that?"
"If it's real, then maybe you stole it from somewhere!"
"You even scam your friends out of money. Can you still call yourself a man?!"
His few words cut deeply. Liu Qing had completely lost his sense of restraint, consumed by his anger.
Lin Yuan silently picked up the ticket from the floor.
Though it had been torn in half, it should still work.
Then he silently transferred the money back.
"I returned your money."
He offered no further explanation.
Because even if he explained, it was another question whether the other person would listen.
After doing all that, Lin Yuan turned and left, giving Liu Qing time to calm down.
He would stay at the villa for the next few days.
With the concert approaching, Lin Qingyue had unusually sent Lin Yuan a message, telling him to make sure he came.
Lin Yuan repeatedly promised that he definitely would.
At the same time, he told Lin Qingyue about what had happened today as a joke.
"No way, your roommate is way too unreasonable. Even if he suspected the ticket was fake, he could have had someone authenticate it."
Like Lin Yuan, Lin Qingyue found the whole thing utterly speechless.
Lin Yuan replied, "That's just the kind of person he is, but he really went too far this time. We can't be friends anymore."
After chatting briefly, Lin Qingyue said she had something to do and stopped talking.
Lin Yuan put down his phone and let out a heavy sigh.
He took a shower first, but it did nothing to wash away his irritation, so he simply found a few horror movies to watch.
In a room at a luxury hotel.
Lin Qingyue emerged from the bathroom after her shower, wrapped in nothing but a bathrobe.
Though she was nearly thirty, her skin was as fair and smooth as a young girl's, so soft and delicate it seemed as though water could be squeezed from it.
Other than performances or appearing on shows, she practically had no other schedule, not even recreational activities.
She made plenty of money, but she had lost her happiness as well.
She lay on the bed, bored as she scrolled through her phone.
Then she suddenly thought of what she had just talked about with Lin Yuan.
"What a ridiculous roommate. He actually thought my ticket was fake and even tore it up."
She smiled, took a screenshot of their chat, and posted it on Weibo.
Given her popularity, less than a minute after she posted it, there were already over a hundred comments.
"HAHAHA, I'm dying! If that roommate finds out the ticket he threw away was real, he'll regret it so badly his guts turn green!"
"What an amazing roommate. Someone sold him a Diamond Concert ticket for the low price of 7,800, and not only was he ungrateful, he repaid kindness with hostility. What a fool!"
"Please share the contact information. I'll pay 20,000 for that ticket!"
"You think 20,000 is enough for a Diamond ticket? I'll offer 50,000!"
Lin Qingyue had never expected that she had merely posted on Weibo to complain, yet before long, it had reached the top ten trending topics.
There were already thousands of comments and tens of thousands of likes, and the numbers were still climbing.
The next day, during morning self-study.
Gu Lianyin suddenly handed over her phone. "Lin Yuan, look! Lin Qingyue posted on Weibo. Someone actually mistook her ticket for a fake and tore it up. Hahahaha!"
Lin Yuan glanced at it absentmindedly, then froze.
Wasn't this the chat he had had with Lin Qingyue yesterday?
Why had she screenshotted it and posted it on Weibo?
When he saw the number of comments and likes, Lin Yuan was startled.
"Look, it's already in the top three trending topics!" Gu Lianyin added.
Lin Yuan: "..."
