Background / History

Tang Hao lived in Holy Soul Village under the identity of an impoverished blacksmith. Seven years before Spirit Hall’s investigation, he arrived carrying the infant Tang San. He appeared drunken, neglected his home, and initially refused to let Tang San attend Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy, dismissing Blue Silver Grass as worthless and insisting that Tang San stay home to cook. He later allowed Tang San to enroll, apparently after recognizing the boy’s hidden potential 2.

Spirit Hall identifies him as the former Clear Sky Douluo and a wanted criminal believed to have killed former Pope Qian Xunji. According to She Long, Qian Xunji had pursued Tang Hao’s transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year soul beast wife, Ah Yin; Tang Hao severely wounded him, and Qian Xunji later died of those injuries 25 38.

Tang Hao secretly watched Tang San during his early years at Nuoding Academy. He allowed Su Chen to remain alive after Su Chen defeated Tang San, judging Su Chen to be a useful “whetstone” who could pressure his son to grow stronger. He later entrusted Tang San’s training to Yu Xiaogang and left the academy 15 16.

After Qian Renxue’s group removed the weakened Blue Silver Emperor—connected to Ah Yin—from Tang Hao’s hidden waterfall cave, along with the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone, Tang Hao attacked Spirit Hall in rage and damaged Pope Hall before escaping 38.

Years later, Yu Xiaogang persuaded Tang Hao that Su Chen had bullied Tang San and taken Xiao Wu away. Tang Hao sought out Su Chen outside Heaven Dou Royal Academy, intending to take Xiao Wu and kill anyone who resisted. His attack ended with Su Chen seriously injuring him and forcing him to retreat after their battle escalated into a clash of domains and ultimate techniques 57 58 59.

While badly weakened, Tang Hao took Tang San to the Blue Silver Forest to awaken the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. He harshly compared Tang San to Su Chen and demanded that he unlock his inherited power. After Tang San’s transformation caused him to resemble Ah Yin, Tang Hao’s grief-driven instability culminated in his sexual assault of Tang San, leaving his son traumatized 62 63.

Tang Hao is first depicted as a disheveled, alcohol-scented village blacksmith. When concealing his identity, he wears a black robe and hood.

Tang Hao is intensely possessive of the people and memories tied to his past. Ah Yin is his greatest emotional vulnerability; the theft of the Blue Silver Emperor and her right leg bone drives him to attack Spirit Hall alone despite the danger 38.

His concern for Tang San is bound to revenge and inheritance. He treats Tang San as the weapon through which he will oppose Spirit Hall, uses Su Chen as pressure to sharpen him, and responds to Tang San’s comparative weakness with contempt and threats rather than support 15 16 57 62.

He is also calculating when political consequences matter. Before attacking Su Chen’s group, he hesitates because killing heirs of several major factions could endanger the Clear Sky Sect. However, Su Chen’s humiliation and injury of him override that caution and turn the confrontation into a personal vendetta 57 58.

Spirit Hall’s investigation identifies Tang Hao as the Clear Sky Douluo. Qian Renxue and Su Chen locate his hidden cave, take the Blue Silver Emperor and Ah Yin’s right leg bone, and leave a challenge directing him to Spirit Hall. Tang Hao retaliates by attacking Pope Hall 25 37 38.

Attempted Abduction of Xiao Wu

After Yu Xiaogang manipulates him, Tang Hao ambushes Su Chen’s group to seize Xiao Wu. His hesitation over the girls’ powerful backgrounds gives Su Chen an opening to attack first 57 58.

Battle with Su Chen

Tang Hao withstands Su Chen’s opening assault, activates the Divine Slaughter’s Domain and later his strongest hammer techniques, but is unable to overpower Su Chen. The Yin-Yang Great Millstone erodes his power and forces him to escape at great physical cost 58 59.

With his strength reduced to less than a tenth of its former level, Tang Hao takes Tang San to awaken the Blue Silver Emperor. His grief for Ah Yin and obsession with surpassing Su Chen further damage his relationship with his son 62 63.
