Huo Yuhao looked at her.
The gentle light fell across her face, and her pinkish-blue eyes were clear and pure.
"You're already amazing."
Wang Chun'er froze for a moment, then used her soul power to flush her face, making Huo Yuhao think she was blushing.
She lowered her head, poked at the mushrooms in her bowl with her chopsticks, and murmured softly.
"That's because... I want to keep up with you."
Huo Yuhao's heart gave a sudden leap.
Wang Chun'er looked up, returning to her usual self, and grinned as she placed a slice of meat in his bowl.
"All right, enough of that. The meat's getting cold. Eat up, senior!"
Huo Yuhao lowered his head and ate, but the tips of his ears quietly turned red.
After dinner, the two of them left the barbecue restaurant.
They walked back to the academy.
It was a short walk from the south gate to the girls' dormitory, and the streetlights cast their shadows onto the ground.
Wang Chun'er walked slowly, much more slowly than usual.
Huo Yuhao slowed down to match her pace.
"Senior."
"Hmm?"
"Thank you for having dinner with me today."
"There's nothing to thank me for."
"I just wanted to thank you."
Wang Chun'er stopped, turned around, and tilted her head up to look at Huo Yuhao.
"I had a really wonderful time today."
Her eyes shone beneath the streetlight, as though filled with tiny fragments of starlight.
The way she looked at him left Huo Yuhao a little dazed.
"I'm here."
Wang Chun'er pointed at the dormitory behind her.
"You should head back, senior. Be careful on the way."
"Okay. Get some rest."
Huo Yuhao turned to leave.
"Senior!"
He turned back again.
Wang Chun'er stood there, wringing her hands as though she had something to say.
