Hearing the knock, Russell pushed Selina off him and unsteadily got up to wash.
It was completely unnecessary. He could go a thousand years without bathing and not gather a speck of dust. Even if he did, a sweep of darkness would leave him spotless in an instant. But unnecessary and unneeded were two different things. It was a matter of attitude; he could not neglect his guests.
With the person beside her gone, Selina groggily opened her eyes, glanced at Russell's retreating back, turned over, and went back to sleep.
