Worse still, despite being this unlucky, she could not even beat Aquaman in a contest of misery.
After all, Diana was one of the Trinity in the Justice League, while Aquaman was a joke no matter where he was. Any plot centered on him either nerfed everyone else's abilities or had them slacking off.

Power Ring was clearly someone who bullied the weak and feared the strong, greedy and lacking any independent opinion. To consolidate his position as leader and prevent his subordinates from challenging and overthrowing him, he had simply refused to take on any underlings.
