The square church had blue-gray walls. Dozens of stone steps stood before its entrance, and the plaza at the foot of the stairs was filled with tombstones. There were no bells, no devout hymns, and no white doves in flight—only a flock of crows circling the Cross atop the church.
The church shrouded in mist, paired with the black crows, looked gray and gloomy, giving off an indescribably strange feeling.
Russell stood at the church entrance. He raised his hand to push the door open, then lowered it again. What was behind it—humans or monsters?
Something was off about this Silent Hill...
As for what exactly was wrong, Russell had more or less realized it. This world did not feel real.
At first, he had not thought much of it. Silent Hill had two worlds, the Surface World and the Inner World, overlapping one another, reality and illusion interwoven into an independent world. It was normal for it to feel unreal.
But upon careful thought, that was not it at all!
First, after encountering so many monsters, he had not triggered a single draw. That was highly unreasonable.
Second, his jinxed mouth was far too accurate. It was as if he had been possessed by the God of Misfortune—whatever he thought of appeared!
The key issue was not his jinxed mouth, but that these monsters were exactly the same as those in his memories.
That was very strange!
Russell did not possess a photographic memory, and he had only watched the movie in bits and pieces. He merely remembered the monsters' general appearances, while all the details had been filled in by his imagination. Yet every detail he had imagined had turned out correct.
This was not imagination. This was clearly original creation!
And there was also the fact that
