No Pit Goes Unjumped

Rumble, rumble, rumble!!!

The violent roar was like thunder, hurricane winds sweeping clouds in every direction. From high above, the clouds churned and spread apart, like ripples caused by a stone falling into a lake.

The red shockwave was blocked by an invisible wall. The energy shield was pressed deeply inward by the boiling beam of light, sparks and lightning crackling around it with grating hisses.

After a brief stalemate, the red beam from the Incineration Cannon broke through the shield in one stroke and slammed into the World Engine's armor.

The intense heat pierced through steel and iron, melting the metal along the edges into glowing red liquid. The next second, the red beam blasted through, blew apart the World Engine, and shot into the distant sky.

It wasn't over yet!

Russell growled, pouring in surging energy at full power. The Incineration Cannon's beam expanded wildly in diameter, and the hole it had punched through widened at a visible rate.

Streams of flame and scorching heat waves swept through the surrounding area, drying out even the air.

The World Engine suffered a devastating blow. Twisted by the searing heat, red flames began spilling from within, burning through its outer armor and raging uncontrollably.

Layers of fire flickered across it. The gigantic steel beast was swallowed by flames, its body warping and swelling. Just before it exploded, the Incineration Cannon's suddenly expanded attack range tore it apart in midair, burning every piece to ash.

The flames withered and quickly died out without fuel. Only the air scorched by the extreme heat remained distorted, so hot that one breath felt enough to set the organs ablaze.
