Someone was kidnapping Gotham City residents while dressed as Batman, intending to confuse the public. Was it merely a coincidence, or a deliberate attempt to frame him? Bruce was deeply troubled by it.
"You said someone dressed as Batman and kidnapped Gotham City residents?"
Russell's eyes widened as he shot back, "That's a question you should ask your fans. No one but them likes dressing up as bats. Or have you finally torn off your disguise and started making moves against Gotham?"
Bruce said coldly, "First, Gotham's criminals are not my fans. Second, I spoke with several scumbags, and they knew nothing about it. So I can confirm it wasn't done by local Gotham criminals."
You trust them that much, and you still say they aren't fans!
Russell silently mocked him before continuing, "Tell me, how do you want me to help? Catch him and hang him up for pictures?"
Bruce's breathing hitched. He suppressed the inexplicable anger in his heart and reminded himself not to stoop to a Silly Bird's level, or his intelligence would be dragged down to the same level—meaning brain death.
"The mysterious people act quickly and are extremely covert. I suspect there's more than one of them."
After calming his slight irritation, Bruce said coldly, "I've been tracking them every night for the past few days, but I haven't found any trace. Even the closest time, I was still one step too late because of the distance."
"Okay, I get it. I'll work with you tonight."
"Fine. We'll stay in contact through the communicator."
Bruce raised an eyebrow and thought to himself that a Silly Bird's mind truly was impossible to predict. According to his expectations, Russell should have haggled and seized the chance to extort him before reluctantly agreeing.
Then his heart skipped a
