Beep, beep, beep—
The black loading screen flickered, revealing Howard Stark's energetic face. He wore a white lab coat and amber Goggles, seemingly tinkering with some new invention in a laboratory.
"BOSS, it's been fifteen years. You finally remembered me. I'm so touched..."
Howard's tone was full of resentment. He had been confined to the Hydra base in Svartalfheim for fifteen years, forbidden from leaving. His body was brimming with vitality, and his drive was so strong he was practically about to explode.
Someone else might have been happy about that, but the men of the Stark family didn't see it that way. The body was meant to be squandered; the brain was what needed preserving.
He hadn't fought in an underground boxing match for a full fifteen years. He was almost forgetting what an underground arena even looked like.
Every time he watched the other researchers enter Asgard eagerly, only to be dragged back like dead dogs, Howard became incomparably envious. He practically wished he could sacrifice himself and suffer in their place.
"Cut the crap. I have something to ask you."
Ignoring Howard's look of a resentful housewife, Russell went straight to the point. "Your son, Tony Stark, invented the Arc Reactor and built the Iron Man Suit, becoming a superhero admired by millions. Unfortunately, his technology isn't up to par. Palladium poisoning has left him on the brink of death."
"How could that happen?"
Howard's expression changed at once. "The last time Maria went to Earth, he was still just a playboy. How did he suddenly become a superhero?"
Russell nodded and added, "He's still a playboy now. He's practically your copy."
At Russell's words, Howard instantly turned into a vengeful spirit. "BOSS, I've turned over a new leaf. I haven't chased women for fifteen years."
