Realm and Geography

Kun Cang is a spatial secret realm governed by Spatial Law. It appears associated with Kunlun, but even a technologically equipped expedition could not locate it through conventional exploration. 265

Sect Peaks

Kun Cang is not a unified state. Its eighty-three peaks compete for territory, resources, disciples, and influence, creating a “dark forest” political environment in which even powerful factions fear being exploited by rivals. 182 220

History

Hidden guardian power

Kun Cang was initially known to Qianlong as an ancient, secretive counterpart rooted in mysticism rather than science. Although it was nominally a guardian of Daxia, its members followed divergent righteous and evil paths, often disregarding Outside World law. 108

Its isolation and unpredictable sects made cooperation dangerous: formation masters could potentially seal otherworldly passages, but they might equally choose to exploit or open them. 161

Lin Xiaosu's first entry

Kun Cang secretly used Professor Yin's Miyan Road expedition to assess potential recruits. Hu Fo, Li Sisi, and Dawa were selected, while Lin Xiaosu was rejected after deliberately concealing his abilities. 175 176

Lin later used the Heavenly Insight Eye to cross the lethal formation beneath the Divine Temple and enter Flowering Valley through a concealed route. 176 177

Internal upheaval

• Lin Xiaosu's formation expertise freed Flowering Valley from its three-century confinement and destabilized the old balance of power. 271
• Free and Unfettered Palace was destroyed and its peak seized by Lu Sanqian, undermining the established order. 280
• Separation Palace, Springwater Palace, and Flowering Valley formed an alliance against the old dominant factions. 302 314

Alliance with the Outside World

Lin Xiaosu sought to turn Kun Cang from a contained threat into a military partner against the Folded Space crisis and foreign invaders. He offered formations to sects willing to fight for humanity, forcing Kun Cang's powers to choose between cooperation and isolation. 575

After Patriarch Chaotic Heaven's defeat, Lone Sword Dustless ordered Kun Cang's powerful cultivators to abandon selfish obstruction and join humanity's resistance. The remaining factions submitted, ending the realm's major internal division before the coming war. 578

• Qianlong — Nominal fellow guardian of Daxia; initially maintained a wary separation from Kun Cang due to its secrecy, lawlessness, and immense cultivation strength. Qianlong later seized control of the principal gateway and reorganized Kun Cang's external access. 108 314
