Dragon Fang shouted, and the two black, fang-shaped flying swords in his hands shot forth like meteors, transforming into one dreamlike sword shadow after another.
The Scarlet Flame Beast battling him was immediately dazzled and disoriented, unable to steady itself as though it had gotten drunk.
"Fang Reaper!" Dragon Fang murmured as if in a dream.
Two soft pops rang out.
The two Fang Flying Swords appeared out of nowhere at the Scarlet Flame Beast's neck, piercing through its body in a cross. The dreamlike sword shadows dancing around it vanished into thin air, as though they had truly been nothing but an illusion.
The Scarlet Flame Beast had not seen how the Fang Flying Swords had struck it. Though startled, it was not truly afraid.
It possessed a Fire Spirit Body. Other than water-attributed divine abilities and Magic Treasures, it feared no other attacks.
Without the interference of the dreamlike sword shadows, the Scarlet Flame Beast's five senses calmed. Flames flickered across its body as it prepared to transform into fire spirit form and escape the Fang Flying Swords' restraint.
Yet a strange force traveled from the Fang Flying Swords into its body, throwing its Divine Soul into turmoil. It swelled and shrank unpredictably, while illusions reappeared before its eyes, as if it had fallen into an endless dream. Its attempt to turn incorporeal came to a halt as well.
Dragon Fang opened his mouth and spat out a stream of black light, which transformed into a black dragon head and passed through the Scarlet Flame Beast's body. Clamped in its jaws was an illusory beast shadow, evidently the Scarlet Flame Beast's Divine Soul, which it swallowed in one gulp.
