Shen Luo had only flown a dozen or so miles when he spotted figures moving in the mountains and forests ahead. A small squad seemed to be hurrying through the woods.
Upon closer inspection, he discovered that it was a group of over thirty minor demons. One of them carried an apricot-yellow banner emblazoned with the words "Myriad Demons Alliance."
Shen Luo's gaze shifted as his thoughts raced. He immediately used the Seventy-Two Transformations, turning into a demon resembling the Black Bear Spirit. Carrying a cumbersome spear transformed from the Mysterious Yellow Unity Staff, he chased after them.
"Wait for me! Wait for me!" Shen Luo shouted from behind.
The demons ahead heard him and all came to a stop.
Shen Luo immediately caught up, panting heavily.
"You're not one of ours. Which unit are you from?" asked the leader, a demon with a fleshy crest atop his head, a narrow face, and a pointed beak. He looked like a rooster that had cultivated a human form, and his voice was shrill and thin.
"I arrived late and got separated from the group ahead. Could I travel with you? We're all brothers of the Myriad Demons Alliance anyway," Shen Luo said with a broad smile.
The rooster demon sized Shen Luo up and discovered that he was a demon who had already formed a Golden Core. He immediately felt inclined to recruit talent, especially since he himself was only at the Out-of-Body Stage.
"You're lucky you ran into us. If you'd met another squad, they might have seized you and charged you with dereliction of duty. Fine. Follow us from now on," the rooster demon said.
"Great, many thanks. May I ask what you're called, fellow cultivator?" Shen Luo asked with an ingratiating smile.
