Immortality (Part 2)

Undead Zombies occupied the lower-middle tiers of the Undead life pyramid. Though they were not particularly powerful Undead creatures, they could still be considered monsters that were exceptionally difficult to deal with.

Among all Undead creatures that had appeared throughout history, this kind was the most troublesome—and the most disgusting.

Unlike Undead Skeletons, Undead Zombies were tougher and stronger. In an instant, they could tear apart any living thing caught in their hands.

At this level, necromancers could not yet directly plunder souls from the Divine Kingdom. Yet even without souls, through **'s connection to the soul and the survival instinct gathered before death—resentment—they were filled with a ** to feed on all living things, especially humans.

Their appearance was also revolting. Before mutating, they had all been people buried beneath the earth with their eyes still open in death. Once they mutated and crawled out of the ground, chunks of rotten flesh would fall from their bodies with every step. Not only did they constantly give off a sour, rancid stench, but maggots also burrowed back and forth through their decaying bodies.

As they continued walking, those worms wriggled without cease, making for an utterly nauseating sight.

Whenever they bared their mouths, they revealed black, hollow caverns devoid of teeth or tongues. Combined with their equally black eye sockets, that appearance was enough to give even the boldest people nightmares.

They walked with a swaying, staggering gait, as though their limbs were stiff and their movements clumsy. In reality, supported by Negative Energy, they moved extremely quickly.

Humans with even slightly poorer stamina could scarcely outrun them. Their endurance was tremendous as well. Once they set their sights on someone, unless that person possessed astonishing speed or terrifying strength, they could only wait to be torn apart.
