Romon did not run into that squad. After returning to the city, he found an inn, took a satisfying bath, and then slept for an entire day.
Once he was refreshed and full of energy, Romon ordered a fine meal, ate heartily, and then did some calculations.
Three hundred Imps and one Greater Demon had all gone into the Shennong Horn Space, and they were all quite fresh. In addition, he had thrown in the corpses of many other Imps left behind after battles. Though they were no longer fresh, they were still fertilizer.
Nourished by them, the concentration within the space had increased by quite a bit.
With that in mind, Romon finished eating, rose, and left.
A certain small town.
This was a small town that had already become ruins. When the Demon Calamity arrived, its residents had either fled or died beneath demon claws.
Though spring had arrived, the wind still carried a trace of chill.
It was afternoon. The hottest part of the day had passed, and evening was drawing near. The early spring sunlight shining upon their bodies could not bring any real warmth.
Amid the town's ruins, several people were fighting demons. There were simply too few humans, only a handful, while the demons numbered over a hundred.
This battle was destined to end in defeat, yet they continued to hold on without retreating. It seemed they were waiting for someone to arrive.
"Captain, we can't do this anymore! We can barely hold on! Why haven't they come yet? Damn it! Don't tell me they're not coming? But we agreed on this—we would lure out the demons, and they would come surround them and fight!" one man shouted as he battled.
"Don't worry! Hold on a little longer! They'll be here soon!" said the
