The seawater churned up layer upon layer of white waves, crashing against the ship.

Stad had already spent half a month aboard this seagoing vessel.

Gazing at the boundless ocean, he felt a measure of panic. He could not even stay in his room, always coming out to wander about.

The sailors on deck did not stop him, allowing him to pace around.

On the deck stood the captain, a middle-aged man with disheveled hair and an unkempt beard. His face was coarse and creased with wrinkles, yet none of it could conceal the icy look in his eyes.

Stad could not help shuddering. He did not dare continue wandering and retreated into a corner to observe.

Even now, Stad had not figured out what was going on. He did not know why he had ended up at sea, or how he had encountered something so strange!

He had originally been a shipbuilding craftsman from an inland region. Half a month ago, he had been returning home for a meal as usual when he was suddenly attacked on the road. By the time he woke up, he was already aboard this large ship.

What reassured him somewhat was that although the people aboard were rather cold, they were still somewhat courteous. Moreover, there were others in the cabin with the same status as him.

And that noble young lady was always gentle and amiable.

"Mr. Stad, are you still not asleep?" A gentle female voice suddenly came from behind him. Stad, who was already over thirty, swiftly turned around. Seeing that it was the kind young lady, he let out a slight breath of relief.
