After leaving the Crown Grandson's Residence, Little Fox had long since swept down like a gale upon an estate not far from it: the Zhou Residence.
Yet unlike when she had gone to find Zeng Nianzhen and returned to the Crown Grandson's Residence, upon reaching the Zhou Residence and gazing at its tranquil grounds, Little Fox hesitated, somewhat unwilling to enter.
After lingering in indecision for a moment, she lightly sprang onto the high wall surrounding the residence.
Though she had hesitated before, now that she had chosen to enter, she moved swiftly, soon following the scent to Zhou Yao's courtyard.
Though it was the dead of night, aside from a few people, most were still lost in dreams. The Zhou Residence was no exception; the entire estate lay silent.
Apart from several lanterns swaying faintly in the wind, nearly every room was steeped in darkness.
Little Fox glanced around, then silently leaped into a corner of the courtyard. The instant she landed, a hand suddenly reached out from the darkness, seized the scruff of her neck, and lifted her straight up.
"Finally, I have met you." A woman's voice drifted eerily beside her ear.
"Squeak!" Little Fox shrieked, and all her fur exploded with a bang, instantly turning her into a fluffy ball of fox fur.
Then, quick as lightning, she twisted around and viciously bit down at the hand holding her.
She was no ordinary fox. Even among the Green Hill Foxes, she now bore a pillar of the sky's weight. Yet before jumping down, she had not sensed anyone hiding in the darkness at all, and her opponent had caught her with unerring accuracy. This person was precisely why she had not wanted to enter!
Little Fox's bite was both vicious and precise.

Her opponent immediately
