Background / History

Mito lived at the Senju ancestral residence, where she served as the affectionate but firm center of Tsunade and Nawaki’s household. After Kushina arrived in Konoha, Mito welcomed her into the family, encouraged Tsunade to spend time with her, and became a grandmotherly source of security for the isolated young Uzumaki. 5 7

As Konoha’s former Nine-Tails jinchūriki and an Uzumaki of standing comparable to Kushina’s, Mito had substantial influence over the village leadership. She demanded compensation for Konoha’s use of the Uzumaki Clan’s wealth and insisted that Kushina retain both financial independence and the freedom to form relationships rather than live under constant surveillance.
