A desolate ruin met his eyes.
Whole swathes of houses had collapsed. Weeds grew thickly on the ground, and heavy dust blanketed rotting wood and shattered tiles. Bloodstained, torn clothing had been carelessly discarded in every corner.
Judging by the blackened, dried bloodstains, this had clearly happened years ago.
This was the first sight Meng Qi saw after being teleported to the Journey to the West World as the scripture seeker.
"So much for the flourishing Great Tang Dynasty. No, wait, it's eight hundred years later now. So much for the flourishing Da Ming Dynasty—no, that isn't right either." Meng Qi discovered a problem and was left utterly bewildered in the wind.
The Journey to the West World's current point in time was already eight hundred years after the pilgrimage, yet the westward journey map instilled in them by Six Paths still listed the Great Tang Dynasty as its starting point!
So was he currently in the Great Tang Dynasty, or in the Da Ming Dynasty eight hundred years later?
"What is going on? Did Six Paths make a mistake, or is there some other mystery?" Meng Qi was briefly plunged into confusion, yet found no answer.
"Forget this doubt for now. Finding the Brocade Kasaya and the Nine-Ringed Tin Staff is what matters most."
"If I remember correctly, Xuanzang from Journey to the West grew up at Jinshan Temple. Then, at the Water-Land Dharma Assembly in Huasheng Temple in Chang'an City, he met Guanyin Bodhisattva and embarked on the road to retrieve the scriptures."
"The kasaya and tin staff are most likely in some Buddhist temple. Jinshan Temple and Huasheng Temple are especially likely—just don't let them be with the Black Bear Spirit."
Meng Qi's deduction was quite reasonable. The Brocade Kasaya and Nine-Ringed Tin Staff were the most
