Background

Shaking Light is among the Eastern Wilderness’s foremost holy lands, distinguished by possession of an Extreme Dao Emperor Weapon. Its mountain gate contains vast palaces, divine peaks, dense spiritual essence, immortal birds, and spiritual herbs. 5

The Holy Land accepts disciples year-round through its branch residences. Applicants require a clean background and sufficient talent; successful candidates may then be recruited by individual peaks and lineages. 5

Its public prestige rests heavily on the Dragon-patterned Black Gold Cauldron. Shaking Light’s official history claims that fifty thousand years of worship caused the cauldron to become an Emperor Weapon, but Qin Sheng knows that Ruthless the Great secretly refined it during a stormy night. 39

Dragon-Pattern Peak

Dragon-Pattern Peak is outwardly an ordinary Shaking Light lineage and the original peak of the Shaking Light Saint Son. Secretly, it is controlled by inheritors of the Ruthless Emperor’s legacy. 5 8

Most Dragon-Pattern Peak disciples cultivate the public Shaking Light Scripture and know nothing of the hidden lineage. Only specially compatible disciples receive the lineage’s “Sacred Art,” the publicly renamed Swallowing Heaven Immortal Art, which is in fact the Heaven Devouring Demonic Art. 8

• Dragon-Pattern Peak Master — Oversees the peak, tests selected disciples, and transmits the hidden inheritance. He privately intends to cultivate Qin Sheng into future “great medicine” for harvesting. 5 8 11
• Elder Li — Dragon-Pattern Peak elder and Ruthless-lineage member who guides Qin Sheng, supplies resources, and teaches him to conceal the Heaven Devouring Demonic Art with the Shaking Light Scripture. 5 8

• Dragon-patterned Black Gold Cauldron — Shaking Light’s Extreme Dao Emperor Weapon. Its black-gold body bears patterns of living things, celestial bodies, and countless black dragons; it suppresses heaven, earth, and the Great Dao beneath it. 39
• Shaking Light Scripture — A quasi-Emperor Scripture cultivated by ordinary disciples and used by the hidden Ruthless lineage as cover for its true inheritance. 8

Internal Politics

Dragon-Pattern Peak’s hidden Ruthless lineage has deeply infiltrated Shaking Light while remaining concealed behind its ordinary disciples and public inheritance. Its growing influence concerns the Holy Lord and Shaking Light Peak, particularly because the current Saint Son also originated from Dragon-Pattern Peak. 8 31

Qin Sheng’s rapid rise intensifies these tensions. His Four Extremes Heavenly Tribulation, defeat of Candidate Saint Son Chen Han, and later resonance with the Dragon-patterned Black Gold Cauldron establish him as an exceptional figure within the Holy Land. 32 33 39

The Holy Land does not grant Qin Sheng control of the cauldron after its reaction, but its leadership begins providing him with greater attention, better treatment, and additional resources. 40

• Qin Sheng — Recruited after reaching the Other Shore Realm at age fifteen; accepted into Dragon-Pattern Peak, granted Core Disciple status, and later promoted to Candidate Saint Son. 5 33
