Ye Fan was Qin Sheng's friend on Earth before their journey to Mount Tai. Qin Sheng recognized his exceptional physique early, identifying it as the Ancient Desolate Saint Body and predicting that its potential could make him invincible once fully developed. 2 3

After crossing from the Starry Other Shore to Beidou, Ye Fan became a frequent target of holy lands, ancient families, assassins, and treasure-seekers. Early in his cultivation, the Desolate Ancient Jiang Family pursued him over a suspected treasure; Qin Sheng rescued him while Ye Fan chose compensation and cultivation resources over killing Jiang Yichen. 16

Personality

Ye Fan is resilient, proud, and practical. He repeatedly turns hostile schemes into cultivation opportunities, including using the Emperor Qing's Heart to temper himself and extract Emperor Blood rather than submitting to its intended role as a sacrificial vessel. 62

He values personal loyalty over reputation or ideology. When he learned Qin Sheng cultivated the Heaven Devouring Demonic Art, he tested him but ultimately chose to trust him based on their shared history—while retaining the resolve to stop Qin Sheng if he ever truly lost himself. 132

Breaking the Sacred Physique's curse

Ye Fan's Four Extremes breakthrough becomes a historic event. Heaven and Earth manifest the Innate Dao Diagram to destroy his foundation, but his entry into the Desolate Forbidden Land awakens the Desolate Lord, who removes the obstacle and permits him to become the first Minor Completed Sacred Physique since the Desolate Ancient Era. 161 162

Starry-sky exile and Ziwei

Seeking a path back to Earth, Ye Fan boards Nine Dragons Pulling a Coffin. His attempt to redirect it fails, leaving him isolated in the starry sky before he eventually reaches Ziwei Ancient Star. There, he kills the Tenth Golden Crow Prince, obtains the Sun Emperor's inheritance, becomes trapped in the Northern Sea Eye, and eventually escapes after refining a Fusang Divine Tree branch. 502 503 602 633
