After learning that Ace had eaten the Mera Mera no Mi, Li Yuan considered whether Devil Fruits had wills that influenced who ate them and planned to test that idea when Luffy found the Gomu Gomu no Mi. Meanwhile, Benjamin gained Weevil’s body through Yadina’s Soul Swap and began a new life as Weevil with the Pressure-Pressure Fruit.

• Yadina reported that Ace had eaten the Mera Mera no Mi, and Li Yuan decided he would need to guide Ace’s training.
• Li Yuan wondered whether Devil Fruits’ wills caused Hancock and Ace to eat the fruits associated with them in the original story, and planned to test fate when Luffy found the Gomu Gomu no Mi.
• Fujitora defeated Weevil again and brought the unconscious fighter to Lazuli’s Laboratory.
• Li Yuan asked Benjamin to confirm that he was willing to exchange bodies with Weevil, and Benjamin agreed.

Shiryu of the Rain killed escaping prisoners and spoke with John in Infinite Hell, where a tremendous wave of Conqueror's Haki swept through the prison. John revealed that the power belonged to the man whose arrival he had been waiting for, and Shiryu realized that man had come to Impel Down to break John out.

• Shiryu of the Rain pursued and killed five escaping prisoners in the Fifth Layer, frustrated that Magellan restricted his slaughter.
• Shiryu visited John in Infinite Hell, where John urged him to help with a prison break and said Shiryu was trapped in Impel Down too.
• John sensed a familiar presence and unleashed his Conqueror's Haki, setting off a disturbance among the prisoners and disrupting the Den Den Mushi.
• An overwhelming wave of Conqueror's Haki swept across Infinite Hell, forcing Shiryu to brace himself with Raiu while most prisoners lost consciousness.
• John reminded Shiryu that he had once described the gap between Shiryu's sword and the arriving man's sword, and Shiryu realized the man had come to break John out.

Li Yuan brought the Limitless Pirates to Deep Sea Prison to raid it, using his Conqueror's Haki and a signal jammer to prevent the prison from calling for help. The pirates broke through the gate and began looting as Magellan reached the first level to confront them.

• Li Yuan's Conqueror's Haki knocked out nearly everyone throughout Deep Sea Prison, and Magellan revived Den Den Mushi but could not connect any calls.
• Magellan woke his subordinates, ordered them to alert Shiryu, and headed to the first level to stop the invaders.
• Li Yuan's island descended beside Deep Sea Prison, and he sent Esdeath and Akame to raid it while Koya stayed outside with the Signal Jammer running.
• Esdeath and Akame slashed the prison gate apart, allowing the Limitless Pirates to rush inside and loot the prison's valuables and Seastone restraints.
• Magellan arrived on the first level and saw the pirates taking the Seastone restraints he had spent years obtaining.

Li Yuan breached Impel Down with a powerful sword strike and descended toward the sixth level while Esdeath fought Magellan. In Infinite Hell, the prisoners saw a chance to escape, and John recognized Li Yuan’s Sword Intent.

• Magellan poisoned a dozen Limitless Pirates who charged at him, then realized Li Yuan had arrived.
• Li Yuan used Hakoku to blast a passage through Impel Down’s first five levels and jumped toward the sixth level.
• Esdeath froze Magellan’s Poison Dragons and Poison Wave, then wounded him with her sword as Akame headed down to explore the prison.

Li Yuan descended into Infinite Hell, defeated Shiryu effortlessly, and freed John and the other prisoners. After Li Yuan invited Shiryu to join the Limitless Pirates, Shiryu accepted so he could leave the prison and grow stronger.

• Li Yuan arrived in Infinite Hell, where Shiryu attacked him with Raiu and Li Yuan stopped the sword between two fingers.
• Li Yuan flicked Shiryu into a wall, then spoke with John and confirmed he had come to rescue him.

• Akainu ordered the Marines to scatter, destroyed two falling meteors, and was driven underground by Ares’s comet strike.

• Weevil ambushed Akainu, and he joined Ares and Fujitora in overwhelming the admiral, who hoped reinforcements would arrive.
• Aramaki's forces annihilated the Revolutionary Army on Greyson Island, leaving one commander as the only escapee.
• Wei Zhuang appeared and declared that every World Government member on the island would die, while Enel, Lafitte, and Reverse Sand attacked the remaining forces.
• Wei Zhuang covered the area with his Night Domain, disrupting Aramaki's vision and Observation Haki, then intercepted his attempted escape.

• Aramaki recognized Wei Zhuang as the King of Assassins and threatened him with the World Government, but Wei Zhuang calmly vowed to kill him and everyone on the island connected to it.
• Vice Admiral Tsuru reported that Impel Down had gone out of contact, and a communications soldier reported that Akainu's Vivre Card was burning.
• After learning that Aramaki's Vivre Card was burning too, Sengoku followed Tsuru's advice and sent himself to Impel Down, Kizaru to rescue Akainu, and Munis to rescue Aramaki.
• Sengoku warned Munis to proceed cautiously, and Munis resolved to stay alert and protect himself.

Esdeath defeated and captured Magellan during the assault on Impel Down, while Akame and the Limitless Pirates recovered Seastone. Li Yuan and his crew left with Koya, and John used the abandoned ships to rebuild the John Pirates and escape with the freed prisoners.

• Caesar and Soros asked Li Yuan to bring Pluton up from beneath Wano Country, and Li Yuan agreed to hide it near their island in the Calm Belt.
• Li Yuan ordered Wano Country secured, cleared out nearby spies, and took the Hades and a group of submarines toward Pluton's location.
• Caesar and Soros examined Pluton's exposed hull and discussed its extraordinary material, energy system, and weapons.
• Li Yuan formed a giant hand from condensed blood and pulled the entire Pluton battleship out of the seabed.

After salvaging Pluton, Li Yuan had Hades tow the inactive Ancient Weapon toward the Calm Belt while promising Akame and Esdeath battleships modeled after it. Meanwhile, Dragon learned the Revolutionary Army’s shift into hiding was nearly complete despite the World Government and Navy’s intensified attacks, and he prepared to finish the plan.

• Akame and the others inspected Pluton, and Bullet and Li Yuan warned them that Ancient Weapons could kill even the strongest fighters with their bombardments.
• Caesar, Soros, Yadina, and the others boarded Pluton, while Akame and Esdeath persuaded Li Yuan to fund battleships modeled after Hades.
• Li Yuan ordered Hades to tow the powerless Pluton toward the Calm Belt so its energy could eventually be restored.

• Shakky reminded Li Yuan that Soros's ten-year deadline had arrived, and they traveled to his Satellite laboratory.
