Ning Rongrong initially presents herself as mischievous, proud, and accustomed to the protection afforded by her position as the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s cherished princess. After capture, she tries to intimidate Xu Peinian by invoking Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Bone Douluo, refusing to accept that her status offers no immediate protection in Spirit Hall’s Heavenly Prison 38.

Her defiance collapses under prolonged intimidation, threats, and confinement. Fear for her safety and appearance ultimately compels her to accept Xu Peinian’s conditions, though she remains visibly distressed and sobs after attendants take custody of her 39.

Shrek confrontation and capture

Ning Rongrong joins the Shrek group during Dai Mubai’s confrontation with Xu Peinian over Zhu Zhuqing. After the group is defeated, Flender attempts to evacuate the others amid Light Feather Douluo’s battle with Tang Hao, but cannot carry everyone. Ning Rongrong is left unconscious on the battlefield alongside Tang San and Yu Xiaogang 35 37.

Tang Hao subsequently escapes with Tang San and Yu Xiaogang, leaving Ning Rongrong behind. Xu Peinian recognizes her identity as the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s young princess and has Light Feather Douluo bring her back to Spirit City 37 38.

Imprisonment in Heavenly Prison

Ning Rongrong awakens in a filthy cell within Spirit Hall’s Heavenly Prison. She demands release and threatens Xu Peinian with retaliation from her father and the sect’s two Titled Douluo protectors. Xu Peinian responds by physically and psychologically intimidating her, then offers a conditional release: she must sever her connection with Shrek Academy and help facilitate cooperation between Spirit Hall and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 38.

The following day, Xu Peinian intensifies the coercion by displaying torture instruments and forcing her to swallow a black pill that he claims will rot her skin and body if she fails to cooperate. Believing the threat, Ning Rongrong accepts the arrangement. Spirit Hall attendants are then ordered to care for her under the pretense that her imprisonment was a mistake 39.

Sect negotiation

Xu Peinian sends Ning Fengzhi a letter informing him that Rongrong has been captured and demanding that he personally negotiate with Spirit Hall. Ning Fengzhi resolves to travel to Spirit Hall with Sword Douluo Chen Xin, while Bone Douluo Gu Rong remains behind to guard the sect 39.
