| Second Soul Ring — Heaven-Devouring Demon Toad | 19–21 | Tang San kills the rare toad after ambushing rival hunters and begins absorption immediately. Rather than a devouring ability, it produces pustules that release a pink aphrodisiac mist. 19 21 |
Background / History
Tang San enters Notting Academy as a freshman and shares Dorm Seven with Xiao Wu and Xu Peinian. Xu immediately notices Tang San's unusually mature gaze and concealed hostility toward the newcomer. 2
Yu Xiaogang takes Tang San as his disciple and identifies him as a Twin Martial Soul possessor. When Xu Peinian publicly rejects Yu Xiaogang's attempted recruitment, Tang San defends his teacher and challenges Xu to a fight; Xu refuses, wary of Tang San's hidden techniques and Tang Hao's protection. 3
During Tang San's first Soul Ring hunt, Xu Peinian covertly removes or destroys stronger candidates in the Soul Hunting Forest. After a prolonged search, Yu Xiaogang directs Tang San to absorb a weak Slug Soul Ring. Tang Hao secretly witnesses the decision, attacks Yu Xiaogang in anger, then ultimately entrusts Tang San to his care after accepting Yu's explanation. 5 6 7
For his second Soul Ring, Tang San follows two hunters seeking a Heaven-Devouring Demon Toad in Star Dou Forest. He ambushes them with a poisoned crossbow bolt, claims the weakened beast, and absorbs its ring despite Yu Xiaogang's uncertainty. The resulting skill proves far more humiliating than useful. 18 19 21
At Suotuo Great Soul Arena, Tang San supports Dai Mubai's attempt to claim Zhu Zhuqing as his fiancée and joins the Shrek students against Xu Peinian. Xu defeats Tang San, Dai, and the others with ease; Tang Hao later intervenes to rescue Tang San and Yu Xiaogang from Light Feather Douluo. 35 36 37

Personality

He is respectful and obedient in front of Yu Xiaogang, accepting both Soul Ring decisions despite their risks. However, his pursuit of a stronger second ring reveals impatience and possessiveness; he pressures Yu Xiaogang to act, ambushes competing hunters, and immediately claims the Heaven-Devouring Demon Toad for himself. 6 19
Repeated failures lead Tang San to suspect that an unseen person is deliberately manipulating his and Yu Xiaogang's fortunes. 22
Abilities & Skills
Blue Silver Grass
Tang San's first Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass. Yu Xiaogang initially treats it as an ordinary foundation for Tang San's later Clear Sky Hammer cultivation. 6

- Side effect — Using Blue Silver Mucus also coats Tang San's own body in a layer of mucus. 7
- Pink mist skill — His second Soul Ring causes pustules to emerge and release an intoxicating aphrodisiac mist. 21
- Mist reabsorption — Tang San can use his second Soul Skill to draw the released pink mist back into himself. 21
- Limitation — The second skill does not grant the devouring trait Tang San expected from the Heaven-Devouring Demon Toad. 21
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang San possesses the Clear Sky Hammer as his second Martial Soul. Yu Xiaogang views it as Tang San's primary future path and plans the Blue Silver Grass rings around supporting its development. 3 6
