Who Was Deceiving Whom!

Er Dongsheng watched the giant python suddenly begin to struggle, puzzled. What had stirred this enormous creature's fury now?

Was it because I was trying to escape... or because of you? Er Dongsheng wondered.

Whatever tricks you're playing, we'll see how they turn out.

Boom!

Looking up at the opening above, Er Dongsheng adjusted his angle slightly and kicked off. In an instant, he appeared at the cave mouth!

Crunch!

His somewhat pale claws drove deep into the rock wall. He looked back at the enormous creature, still raging below, then turned and crawled into the depths of the tunnel without a second glance!

One meter... ten meters... a thousand meters...

The tunnel seemed to stretch on forever. It twisted left and right, sometimes even sloping downward. Er Dongsheng estimated that he had crawled several thousand meters, yet there was still no end in sight!

Where did this lead?

Time passed slowly. Er Dongsheng kept climbing forward at an even pace, neither rushing nor growing impatient. The Wind Demon seemed unusually composed too, making no sound the entire way!

"Huff."

He let out a long breath. Air was scarce deep in the tunnel, and the stale air, trapped there year after year, had a smell that made him want to vomit whenever he breathed it in!

He shook his heavy head, as though that might clear it a little, then pressed on!

After he had gone some distance farther,
