Crossing the River (Part One)

Their feet crushed the brittle bones of plants, drawing out a series of sharp cracks.

The plants here were fascinating. Perhaps because of the heat, their remains hardened after death into something like pieces of solid crystal. It was strange indeed!

Er Dongsheng picked up a fragment of plant bone and felt a wisp of fire flowing through it. Most of its energy had already dissipated. He shook his head and crushed it in his hand.

These things were useless now.

The team behind him watched their surroundings with extreme caution. The scenery was strange and beautiful, but it was even more dangerous and terrifying. They could not let down their guard for a moment.

Three days. They had been inside the Ancient Sea of Fire for three days, yet Er Dongsheng and the others still found themselves marveling at it again and again.
