The Flame Phoenix's enormous form slowly appeared on the horizon.

It seemed vast enough to blot out the sky.

"It's him? He actually came!" The demons present looked toward the massive Flame Demon Phoenix drawing closer from the horizon, and their expressions changed.

"How is that possible?"

"This guy..."

None of them had expected him to actually dare come.

It was unbelievable.

Wasn't he afraid...

Or did he have something to rely on?

No wonder. No wonder Archmond, who hadn't shown himself until now, suddenly appeared. I thought he'd come to welcome the Illusion King and the Three-Eyed Devil Lord, but it was for that guy! Several powerful demons felt a sting of resentment. They were formidable demons themselves, each an overlord in his own territory, yet even their standing wasn't enough to earn a personal welcome from Archmond. What an insult!

Blade Demon, Baruk, and Bright—the strongest among them—watched the huge Phoenix in the distance with especially dark expressions. No one knew what they were thinking.

That one small gesture from Archmond had stirred resentment among most of the demons.

The ordinary demons in the city couldn't help trembling as they watched the Flame Phoenix surge toward them. It had yet to arrive, but its overwhelming aura had already descended. Endless destruction mingled with searing heat, making them feel as though they stood in Purgatory.

Purgatory—yes, a purgatory of fire, a purgatory of destruction.

Boom!
