He had not forgotten why he had come. For one thing, he needed to complete the task the Abyssal Will had given him. Once the Crystals appeared, the Abyssal Will had taken them away—or rather, it had taken the key inside and left the Crystals to Er Dongsheng.
The reason Er Dongsheng's true body, Baal, had not come here was those Crystals!
