This was a land where snowflakes ran wild and the wind chilled to the bone!
Here, ice and snow held vast stretches of land in their grip year-round. Only for a month and a half each year did the earth awaken and the snow melt!
Cold—bitterly cold!
Cold enough to turn dripping water to ice!
This land was called the Northern Frontier!
It lay on the edge of the Wizard Plane, under the control of the Highland Wizards!
Travel south from the Northern Frontier, to where the winter snow melted and the earth grew warm, and you would reach the region where the Highland Wizards lived. Their lands bordered the sea!
Ordinary mudbloods—humans with no aptitude for wizardry—were not permitted to live there!
Of course, even if humans went there, they might not withstand the violent energy of heaven and earth. They could be torn apart completely!
Mudbloods' bodies were simply too frail to endure the battering of that violent energy!
Most ordinary humans here lived in a relatively calm region of the central Northern Frontier, where they could find shelter.
Their lives there were exceptionally hard, but they could at least take comfort in the protection of those lofty wizards.
They had too little food or warmth, but at least they did not starve to death!
The central Northern Frontier was divided into countless nations, large and small, and behind each nation lurked countless shadowy figures.
The wizards protected these ordinary humans, while the humans mined ore and other resources. They even supplied people with an aptitude for wizardry to the powers behind them!
