For a start, the Highland Wizards' world was nearly as large as the lands inhabited by ordinary humans.
It covered roughly a third of the habitable Northern Frontier.
Wizards called that territory the Highland because it was the highest ground in the Northern Frontier.
Among themselves, wizards also called the Highland the Land of the Eerie.
There was a reason for that name. Its energy rose in layers, though no one knew why. The higher one climbed, the fiercer the radiation became. At the summit, it had formed a natural vortex of energy, and no one had ever reached its center.
The Highland held stranger sights still. Beneath the vast cliffs to the east stretched an ocean without end.
Countless strange Demon Beasts lived in its waters, along with the legendary Sea Wizard Clan!
Sea Wizards were wizards, but they had not risen from the ranks of humanity. Most were Demon Beasts who had cultivated their way to that level—a strange kind of wizard indeed!
Their abilities were stranger still, and every one of them was extraordinarily tough!
Demon Beasts were born with formidable bodies, after all!
But that was nothing.
Most frightening of all were the enormous Caverns that descended beneath the Highland, so deep that no one knew where they ended.
Those vast Caverns seemed to connect to another world, which wizards called the Dark World!
