This book was now closing in on 1.3 million words, and its numbers had been lousy from the start right up to now. I kept feeling as though more and more readers were picking it up, so why wouldn't those numbers improve?
I counted on my fingers: I'd been posting updates for over half a year. I hadn't suddenly put out a dozen chapters at once like some authors, but I hadn't stopped updating for days at a time like others, either. I didn't think I'd ever missed an update!
I was gradually finding my stride with the writing, but maybe the early chapters weren't good enough, so the numbers still weren't growing.
Some people had urged Sixue to finish this book as soon as possible and start another one. Surely that was better than letting it keep flopping. Most authors did that, after all; their first books usually weren't very long.
Sixue sometimes thought so too. But if I hurried the story along, I'd have to cut so many of the plotlines I'd planned, and the complete story I'd promised readers would become a patchwork mess. So, on second thought, I'd just carry on at a steady pace!
Sixue had plenty more to say, but I'd leave it at that. I didn't even know who would see this.
So I'm asking you all: if you can support the book, please subscribe. Even if it's just to help Sixue keep going!
Thank you!
