Konoha Gate.
Naruto followed behind Jiraiya, looking at Konoha Gate with eyes full of memories.
"Hey, Uncle Izumo, why do you and Uncle Kotetsu look so listless?"
They walked over to register and saw Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki, noticing the anxious looks on their faces.
Jiraiya was the same.
With his experience, he could tell at a glance that they were not anxious because something had happened to Konoha, but because they were anxious to watch a spectacle.
Izumo Kamizuki sighed. "A woman came to Konoha. She's the village chief of some village, and she's challenging Kakashi and Guy, saying she wants them to marry into her family. We have to guard the gate. Seriously!"
"Yeah, what a shame. Why did it have to be our shift at a time like this? Lady Tsunade really..." Kotetsu Hagane grumbled as well.
For the two of them to complain about the Hokage, it was obvious just how enticing this spectacle was.
Those were Kakashi and Might Guy. If either of them lost, Konoha would have quite a show on its hands.
The key was that she had challenged them openly and fairly.
She had even submitted an application to the Hokage.
"Oh? A pretty lady?"
"Oh? Are Teacher Kakashi and Bushy Brows finally going to find partners?"
Naruto and Jiraiya had completely different focuses.
One cared about the pretty lady, while the other cared about finding partners.
"Come on, Pervy Sage, let's go take a look."
Naruto was already unable to wait.
His gossip-loving heart blazed fiercely, just like when he had wanted to see Teacher Kakashi's face beneath his mask.
"Alright, I want to see the pretty lady too." Jiraiya smiled.
Then, under the resentful gazes of the two gate guards, they finished registering and strode away.
Konoha Plains
