Land of Fire.
On the way to the Bounty Station.
"We agreed to look for Tailed Beasts, but you went and captured another high-bounty target.
Is your intelligence network really that bad, or do you just want me to work for free?"
Hidan carried his scythe on his shoulder, looking utterly bored.
Kakuzu remained expressionless. "The organization needs funding too. Besides, doesn't this give you a chance to perform that damned ritual?"
"Hey, hey, don't insult Lord Jashin. That's my faith.
Keep this up and I'm quitting. You can work for the organization alone."
Hidan grumbled in displeasure.
"Say, do you think we'll run into Konoha people on the way?" Hidan's eyes rolled around.
"Hmm, isn't that exactly what you want?"
Kakuzu said coldly.
Suddenly.
"They're here."
Drip, drip!
"Woo woo," "beep beep," "doo doo," and "da da."
A melodious tune, like tinkling spring water...
Flute music drifted from the sky and entered their ears.
Kakuzu gently set down Chiriku's corpse and rapidly formed hand seals.
Wind Release: Pressure Damage.
A massive vortex storm attacked in every direction.
Puff, puff, puff!
Crack, crack, crack!
Trees were uprooted, and the ground was torn apart by the hurricane.
"That was fast!"
Hidan heard the sound and pulled out the short blade he carried, slashing himself several times.
Sizzle!
Blood flowed from his chest.
"Hehehe, what an annoying Genjutsu." He grabbed his scythe and charged in one direction.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
Two Konoha ninja appeared and simultaneously hurled Shuriken at Hidan.
Clang, clang!
"Useless."
Hidan easily swept the Shuriken aside, sending them striking into the ground with a series of thuds.
"What incredible Taijutsu."
The two Konoha ninja were shocked by how formidable his Taijutsu was.
But remembering that their captain was supporting them, they felt no fear.
They went straight at him.
