Fang Yan almost instinctively understood what Chaos Venerable meant.
Although Chaos City had not yet been established at this point in time, and the more than fifty Chaos Steles did not yet exist.
At this very moment, however, Chaos Venerable's words were clearly the prototype of the Chaos Stele system!
"Venerable, so what you mean is..."
"I want those stone steles to become the foundation for the Human Race's cultivation of geniuses."
Chaos Venerable turned around, fervent light burning in his eyes.
"Each stele will record a cultivation path, from foundational law comprehension to profound fusion paths, allowing World Lords to choose what to study according to their talents and direction. Just as you chose Wind-Time Fusion, everyone will be able to find the path best suited to them."
Fang Yan drew a deep breath.
The butterfly's fluttering wings had ultimately stirred up a hurricane over the Pacific.
He had never expected that a few casual words from him would directly give rise to the Chaos Stele system.
Fang Yan suddenly realized that although Chaos Venerable had this idea, he had never put it into practice.
Perhaps the time had not yet been right, or perhaps he had lacked an opportunity.
And what Fang Yan had just said happened to be that opportunity.
"Venerable, this idea will surely benefit the Human Race for endless eras."
Fang Yan spoke solemnly. This time, he truly meant it.
"Only..."
"Only what?" Chaos Venerable looked at him.
"Since these steles were created from Venerable's idea, they should be named after Venerable."
Fang Yan met Chaos Venerable's eyes and spoke earnestly.
"How about calling them Chaos Steles!"
Chaos Venerable fell silent for a moment, then let out a low laugh.
"Chaos Steles? Good, then Chaos Steles it shall be. I will have these steles erected in the core of humanity's territory, so that all Human Race geniuses may have the chance to study them."
Fang Yan smiled as well, though inwardly he quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
It worked.
Although he had not become Chaos Venerable's disciple, he had established his image as someone devoted to the greater good, earned a wave of favor with Chaos Venerable, and even brought about the early birth of the Chaos Stele system.
Three birds with one stone. Simply perfect.
Yet the matter was not over.
Chaos Venerable suddenly withdrew his smile, and a scrutinizing gleam returned to his flame-like eyes.
"I will begin handling the matter of the Chaos Steles. But you said earlier that Wind-Time Fusion is the path you intend to walk... I want to see whether those are truly not empty words."
Fang Yan's heart skipped a beat.
"Let me show you something."
Chaos Venerable waved a hand, and the mist within the grand hall suddenly churned, gathering before them into an enormous screen of light.
Within the screen, an emerald-green planet slowly rotated.
The entire planet was lush green, its surface covered in boundless primeval forests. Every tree stood tens of thousands of feet tall, their branches and leaves blotting out the sky.
And deep within that forest, an immensely vast Wind Origin slowly circulated.
"Wind Abyss Star."
Chaos Venerable spoke.
"This planet is a relic from the previous cosmic era. Sealed upon it is an incomparably pure Wind Origin.
Across the entire Primordial Universe, this is an exceptional place for you to refine wind laws.
If you can refine it, your Law of Wind will be enough to enter the perfected realm, perhaps even allowing you to glimpse a trace of mysteries at a higher level."
Fang Yan's eyes immediately lit up.
It was the purest kind of Wind Origin!
It was countless billions of times more powerful than a Wind Origin Crystal!
"However."
Chaos Venerable changed the subject, his tone growing meaningful.
"Wind Abyss Star is not ownerless land. Endless years ago, I designated it a forbidden zone and sealed it away until now. Since you wish to walk the path of Wind-Time Fusion through your own strength, I will give you this whetstone. Rely on your own power and refine the Wind Origin on Wind Abyss Star."
"Alright!"
Fang Yan agreed without hesitation.
He had been worried that his comprehension of the Law of Wind was stuck at ninety-nine percent and could not advance. Wind Abyss Star was practically a gift delivered right to his door.
"There is one more thing."
Chaos Venerable spoke again, and this time his tone became somewhat subtle.
"My teacher also knows about you."
Fang Yan froze.
Origin?
The strongest being of the Human Race, the one who would create a peak tenth-tier secret technique in the future?
"Nine Universes King sent me the recording, and I forwarded it to my teacher."
Chaos Venerable's expression did not change in the slightest as he said this.
Fang Yan's expression, however, completely cracked.
Wait, Venerable, you forwarded it too?!
"My teacher watched your recording and was quite interested in your title, 'Six-Wing World Lord.'"
Chaos Venerable continued, with a faint, almost imperceptible smile in his voice.
"He also heard the principles you spoke of and found them quite inspiring. Thus, he too intends to establish a Chaos Stele for the Human Race's geniuses to study. You may come to the company headquarters to take a look when the time comes."
"Alright, you may go."
Chaos Venerable waved a hand, and the light in the grand hall began to dissipate.
"I look forward to you refining the Wind Origin of Wind Abyss Star, and I also hope you can truly blaze a new path for the Human Race."
Fang Yan drew a deep breath and bowed.
"This junior will certainly not disappoint Venerable's expectations."
The light completely faded, and Fang Yan's consciousness returned to the summit of Sky Pillar Peak.
He opened his eyes and discovered that his collar had already been soaked through with sweat.
Fang Yan lay flat on the grass, staring at the two familiar moons above Yinghuo Star as he gulped down breaths of air.
Nine Universes King was still standing nearby, watching him with a curious expression.
"How was it? What did Venerable say to you?"
Fang Yan numbly turned his head and looked at the culprit, then weakly said,
"Senior Nine Universes... next time, could you give me a heads-up before recording me?"
Nine Universes King paused, then burst into hearty laughter.
"Kid, you have no idea what Chaos Venerable said after watching your recording! Venerable said that a genius like you, who carries the Human Race in his heart, deserves vigorous cultivation!"
Fang Yan buried his face in the grass.
Nine Universes King patted him on the shoulder.
"Alright, get ready to head to Wind Abyss Star. Since Venerable gave you this opportunity, don't let us old fellows down."
Fang Yan climbed up from the grass, straightened his robes, and the expression on his face became serious once more.
"Rest assured, Senior Nine Universes. This junior will certainly do his utmost."
Nine Universes King nodded. With a flash, he transformed into a streak of silver light and vanished beyond the horizon.
Fang Yan stood where he was. He raised his head, his gaze passing through Yinghuo Star's blood-red heavens and toward the depths of the endless Xingkong.
He knew which direction Wind Abyss Star lay in.
There lay the final piece he needed to break through to immortality.
"Wind Abyss Star."
Fang Yan murmured, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly.
"Just wait. This immortal is coming."
