Ch. 41Venerable Yu Qing (Third Update Today)
Chapter Summary
A century has passed, but Hei Miaomiao remains physically unchanged and as innocent as ever. She reunites with Fang Yan, still disguised as “Sister Loulan,” and affectionately clings to him. Fang Yan maintains his aloof older-sister persona, though his habitual gesture of patting her head has developed into genuine emotional attachment. Miaomiao asks whether the Black Heaven Lord will successfully break through to the Universe Lord realm, and Fang Yan confidently assures her that he will, despite privately feeling anxious.
Years later, the Black Heaven Secret Realm begins shaking violently as the Black Heaven Lord reaches the critical final stage of his breakthrough. At that moment, Venerable Yu Qing, a powerful Top Universe Overlord of the Rainclear Race, arrives at the realm’s entrance. She declares that the Lord cannot break through without the Rainclear Race’s permission, revealing that the political dispute over ownership of the secret realm has escalated into direct intervention.
The two Lower Universe Venerables of the Black Sky Lotus Race attempt to stop Yu Qing, but she defeats them effortlessly with silvery-white energy. When hundreds of Black Sky Lotus warriors—including Army Lords, Marquises, and Kings—attack her, she annihilates many of them just as easily. Her overwhelming strength demonstrates the enormous difference between a Top Universe Overlord and Lower Venerables.
Hei Sisi leads the surviving Black Sky Lotus forces into battle despite the severe crack running across her body, showing that she is already badly damaged but refuses to retreat. Hei Miaomiao follows her, abandoning her usual cheerful innocence for grim determination. Fang Yan secretly enters the Dawn Zone to help, but his concealment is exposed by the battle shockwaves. Sisi orders him to leave for his own safety, while Miaomiao urges him to hide. When Fang Yan asks Miaomiao to escape with him, she refuses, telling him to “eat more for me” and charging at Yu Qing herself, trusting that the Lord’s successful breakthrough will turn the battle around.
However, the Black Heaven Lord’s breakthrough begins to falter. The golden light surrounding the enormous lotus with 10,081 petals flickers weakly, suggesting that he may fail to cross the threshold from High Universe Venerable to Universe Lord. The remaining Black Sky Lotuses launch a desperate assault against Yu Qing in an attempt to buy time. As the battle reaches its crisis point, a battered Black Sky Lotus rises from the Dark Night Zone and weakly calls out to the Lord, ending the chapter on a suspenseful cliffhanger.
Character Developments and Interactions
- Fang Yan: His disguise as Loulan has become emotionally complicated. His care for Miaomiao is no longer merely an act, and he is deeply distressed by the danger facing her and the Black Sky Lotus Race. Despite being ordered to retreat, he secretly follows the fighters into battle.
- Hei Miaomiao: She remains affectionate and cheerful in ordinary moments, but reveals unexpected courage and self-sacrifice during the crisis. Her decision to attack Yu Qing alone shows her loyalty to the Lord and her willingness to die for the race.
- Hei Sisi: Though seriously damaged, Sisi remains composed and protective. Her command that Fang Yan leave demonstrates her concern for him beneath her normally cold exterior.
- Venerable Yu Qing: She is introduced as an overwhelmingly powerful and dismissive antagonist. Her calm destruction of the Black Sky Lotus defenders establishes her as the decisive force threatening the secret realm.
- Black Heaven Lord: He does not directly appear, but his attempted breakthrough drives the entire conflict. His possible failure creates the chapter’s central tension.
