A Treasure-Fueled Tycoon Swallowed Star Fanfiction

TL;DR: I'll be simplifying the territory content from here on. The treasure-fueled tycoon aspect will take priority, with territory management serving as a supplement.

Recently, I've felt that something about the writing was off. After reflecting on it, it seemed like I'd let the secondary take precedence over the primary, without properly distinguishing between them.

The original plan was territory management (a lord-style story) plus a treasure-fueled tycoon story.

I hadn't given much thought to exactly how to write it. I just decided on it on a whim.

But everything has priorities. For those dear readers who followed me from my previous two books, what interested you, what you wanted to see, what you enjoyed seeing, was probably the protagonist constantly bringing out one treasure after another.

I also wanted to write what you dear readers wanted and enjoyed reading, so I gave it some thought.

At first, I wanted to include some territory-management content. But with massive amounts of treasures and money being thrown around, everything became too easy, making it feel hollow to write.

And that blurred the priorities, letting the territory content overshadow everything else. The core of this book should have been the treasure-fueled tycoon aspect.

In that previous system-misalignment book, because I wanted to follow the original plotline, even when the protagonist brought out overpowered treasures, I still held him back in the early stages and didn't let him break into a major war with the alien races. Many treasures were merely brought out for a round of boasting, without any chance to show their practical use. Then, he erupted all at once in the later stages, directly crushing opponents even at the True God level, leaving nothing more to write about.

The original intention of this book was to give treasures at every stage and level more opportunities to be used, and to explore the treasure-fueled tycoon style in greater depth and richness.

If territory management and treasure-fueled tycoon content were written side by side, then the secondary would overshadow the primary.

The treasure-fueled tycoon aspect should be the main focus, while territory management should be supplementary. The priorities need to be clear.

So from now on, I'll simplify the territory-management content. The story will mainly be driven by the protagonist bringing out treasures and influencing others through them.

The protagonist might not level up very quickly. But that isn't to suppress his level; it's simply so treasures of different levels can have more opportunities to be used, rather than being brought out for one round of boasting and then forgotten.

I hope I can write the treasure-fueled tycoon style in greater depth, make it richer and more interesting. As for whether I have the ability to write it well, I don't know. All I can say is that I'll do my best.

Also, because the story begins very early in the timeline, I plan to use historical events mentioned in the original work as major events—such as the opening of the Seventh Battlefield, the struggle over the Star Tower, and Yan Emperor's defection. The treasures brought out by the protagonist will create effects on different levels.

And once again, let me emphasize that this is not a story about the protagonist's personal combat power leveling up.

In the vast majority of the plot, the protagonist won't fight personally at all. In the earlier part of this book, when dealing with the space pirates, he did fight himself, and afterward I felt that something about it wasn't quite right.

As for the protagonist's personal cultivation and advancement—breaking through in spectacular fashion, possessing heaven-defying combat power, an Immortal slaying a True God—most Swallowed Star fanfictions write that. There's no need to read mine for it.

I'm not good at writing that kind of thing, and even if I did, you dear readers would probably find it boring and stop reading.

So there's no need to care about the protagonist's personal combat power, what he cultivates, his laws, secret techniques, divine body, and so on. None of that is important. The protagonist's level is more or less just a progress bar.

After all, this is fanfiction. What you dear readers probably want to see most are the original characters, not some protagonist I casually made up putting on an endless show.

Readers of my previous books will know that my earlier protagonists were the same way—they simply didn't make a move for very long stretches of time.

For those dear readers who only started reading with this book, it's already reached a hundred thousand words, and it will probably go paid before long. To keep you from feeling that it isn't your cup of tea, I'm specifically emphasizing once more that this book's protagonist will almost never fight personally.
