Meng Zu rescued Sam Fox from Mary Shaw, learned to replenish his unusual energy at the New York Sanctum, and took a contract to bring Tony Stark home from Afghanistan. After rescuing Tony and Dr. Ethan, Meng Zu returned to New York as Tony announced the closure of Stark Industries’ weapons division.

• Meng Zu accepted the Foxes’ commission to find Sam, followed his clue to Ravensfair, and rescued Sam and the other captives from Mary Shaw’s theater.
• Mary Shaw, Jason, and Mrs. Voorhees pursued Meng Zu and the escapees, but Wong and The Ancient One destroyed them after briefly confronting Mephisto.
• The Ancient One directed Meng Zu to Sorcerer Daniel, who showed him how to absorb energy from the Dimensional Energy World and increase his energy limit.
• After six months of absorbing energy, Meng Zu watched Peter Parker defeat Juggernaut and accepted Pepper Potts’s commission to find Tony Stark.
• Meng Zu infiltrated the Ten Rings camp, found Tony and Dr. Ethan, and helped them escape before U.S. forces brought them back to safety.
• Pepper paid Meng Zu twenty million dollars for the rescue, and Meng Zu shared five million with Uncle Yang before returning home.
• Meng Zu agreed to buy Stark Industries shares when they hit bottom as Tony announced the closure of its weapons division.
