Abomination Had No Idea His Awakening Had Been Engineered, Just as You Had No Idea of the Power of Heaven-Scorching Flames
Blonsky watched Banner walk away, then glanced at Yu Xian, who was staring at him from the side, and frowned.
"What exactly do you want?" Blonsky asked impatiently.
"Does Captain Blonsky not want to know Banner's secret for coming here?"
"This is the God-Making Grounds!"
The God-Making Grounds? Blonsky looked at him in confusion.
"Through our unrelenting efforts, we finally replicated part of Hulk's sample!"
"We took a little something from Dr. Banner's body. I wonder whether Captain Blonsky would be interested?"
Something from Banner's body?
Hearing that, Blonsky's eyes narrowed sharply.
This time, he began studying Yu Xian seriously.
"Come with me, Captain Blonsky."
The laboratory.
Yu Xian brought Blonsky here, with the others who had returned following behind them.
They still had no idea what Yu Xian was plotting.
"That's him!"
"Dr. Sterns, I need you to inject everything extracted from Dr. Banner's body into Blonsky."
At that, Sterns's eyes lit up. He eagerly examined Blonsky from head to toe. "You've already been injected with something before, haven't you?"
Blonsky looked at him with disgust. "That's right, but it isn't enough. You saw that guy too, didn't you?"
"Of course! That was absolutely incredible! Like a god!"
"I want to become like that too. You have to help me become like that. Any problem with that?"
"Of course, but the only issue is that I don't know what you were injected with before. The result of mixing two serums could—be very ugly!"
"Dr. Sterns, start now. Since he came here, Blonsky has already considered the consequences." Yu Xian once again cut off Sterns's rambling.
He had him begin the injection experiment immediately.
Above New York.
The military helicopter's rotors thundered loudly.
Inside the cabin, the atmosphere was suffocatingly tense.
General Ross stared expressionlessly at the silent Bruce Banner and his daughter, Betty Ross, who stood protectively beside him.
"You finally came back, Banner!"
Hearing his voice, Banner raised his head and looked at the white-haired figure before him. "Don't worry. I won't support you making any weapons of war. Don't even think about it!"
"You..."
Unable to endure their exchange any longer, Betty spoke up and interrupted them. "Stop talking!"
"I will never forgive you for what you did to him!"
"He's just a fugitive. He doesn't deserve this from you, Betty!"
"Heh, isn't all of this your fault, Father?"
"For your own selfish desires, for that hat on your head, you destroyed everything!"
"I am no longer your daughter!"
"..."
General Ross's gaze turned icy as he looked at the two confronting him.
Heh, once they were in my hands, was he really supposed to fear they would not submit?
That little brat from S.H.I.E.L.D. had been far too naïve!
There were countless ways to make someone yield in this world.
Once they returned to the base, he would conduct a thorough analysis of Banner's body and develop the Type II Super-Soldier Serum.
His wager would be as good as won!
As for soldiers losing control?
How could that happen?
Blonsky was still perfectly fine. There was no risk of losing control whatsoever.
Boom!
Just as the people aboard the helicopter argued,
an explosion suddenly erupted from the ground, loud enough for everyone high in the sky to hear clearly!
Hm? What happened?
Hearing the explosion, General Ross's heart immediately sank.
At the same time,
the helicopter's ground radio crackled to life.
"Hulk is on the street! Hulk is on the street, sir!"
"What? Impossible!"
General Ross abruptly rose to his feet and looked at Banner beside him, a terrible premonition forming in his heart.
"Impossible. Calm down, young man. Where are you now?" General Ross snatched the radio.
"Central Park, sir!"
"I'm transmitting the video feed now!"
Beep!
The monitor in the helicopter flickered on.
On the screen, a massive, suffocatingly imposing figure slowly rose from the billowing smoke and dust.
That was definitely not Hulk.
Its skin was a sickly yellowish-brown, like rotting soil.
Its entire body was covered in knotted, grotesque masses of muscle. Veins bulged and pulsed beneath its skin like twisted earthworms.
Most horrifying of all, thick grayish-white bones on its back and joints had pierced directly through its skin, exposed outside to form vicious bone spikes and plates.
The monster's face was hideous. Its mouth split open to reveal thick fangs, while its body, several sizes larger than Hulk's, brimmed with primal savagery and a pure desire for destruction.
It merely stood there quietly, yet the air around it seemed to have frozen solid.
Even separated by a screen, Ross and the others could feel the overwhelming pressure that figure inflicted upon people.
"Is this your experiment?"
"Oh my God, what have you done, Father?"
There was no response. General Ross stared at the scene in silence, merely ordering the helicopter to turn around and fly toward Central Park.
"Only I can do it. Take me there!" Banner clenched his teeth as he looked at Abomination on the screen and spoke to General Ross.
"No... Look, there's someone else in there." Betty spotted a figure flash across the monitor.
It charged straight toward the terrifying, towering figure on the screen.
Before anyone could make out who that figure was,
on the screen,
a towering blaze that seemed capable of burning everything suddenly erupted.
In an instant,
nothing else could be seen on the entire screen,
only fire,
raging fire,
fire filled the entire display.
