Tony pulled out the phone Captain America had left behind, turned it on, and dialed the long-dormant number.
It rang only twice before the other end answered.
Yet neither of them spoke first. In the end, Captain America was the one who broke the silence. "Tony...?"
"Rogers."
One called him "Tony," the other "Rogers." Their resentment toward each other was plain to see. It was not that Tony was narrow-minded. Even though the murder of his parents had been put behind them through Kino's intervention, there was no way he could sit down and have tea face-to-face with his "enemy." Never crossing paths for the rest of his life was already Tony's greatest act of generosity.
"We've got big trouble. That Purple Potato Monster is coming."
Back when they had clashed with Secretary Ross, the Avengers had all learned of that "Purple Potato Monster."
"He hasn't arrived yet, but... I'm guessing his subordinates are about to. Based on the response plan Kino left behind, we'll fight the decisive battle in Wakanda. You..."
As he spoke, Tony suddenly stopped.
A thunderous humming sound rose all around them, accompanied by tremors from the ground.
"Doctor, are you moving your hair by yourself?"
"No, not right now." Doctor Strange felt the trembling around them, and his expression turned grave.
With the enormous sound of a spaceship and the chaotic, panicked crowds running outside, Tony and the others knew the moment they had been waiting for had arrived.
They pushed open the door and saw a massive donut-shaped ship descending.
Faintly, in the distance on the other side... there was another one.
"Rogers, the time has come. I'm sure you'll see it on the news soon. Also, can you find Bruce Banner? Okay, he's yours... Over here, I have to fight." Tony spoke rapidly
