Steve Rogers was a physically frail young man before receiving the completed Super-Soldier Serum during World War II. The treatment transformed him into Captain America, after which he fought alongside the Howling Commandos. His active wartime career lasted fewer than two years before his disappearance. 79 81 533

At the end of the war, Steve crashed with Red Skull’s aircraft near Baffin Island. He remained frozen beneath the Arctic ice for nearly seventy years, surviving because his serum-enhanced physiology preserved him rather than allowing him to die. 50
