The Origin of Magical Girls

After teaching his junior, Fu You left the training grounds with him, then returned to his residence alone.

The Magical Girl outfit vanished as soon as he left Huali. The room was pitch-black, with no lights on.

He went to the bathroom and took a quick shower. When he came out, he received a call from Sun Feiliu.

"Hey, how are things going with the newcomer?" Sun Feiliu's voice on the other end retained that smoker's rasp unique to middle-aged men, carrying a hint of teasing.

"Not bad."

"How does he feel?"

"Why is he a man?"

"Hahahaha, that's why I said you're the most suitable person to train him. Isn't he a lot like you?"

"Like me?"

That effeminate guy was like him? That was simply an insult.

"I think the two of you are highly compatible. I specifically transferred him here so he could meet you. Train him well. The next decade might just become his decade."

"You think that highly of him?"

"When have I ever misjudged someone?"

"Me."

"Did I misjudge you? Hahahaha! Fu You, you're way too full of yourself."

"I'm full of myself? Watch yourself, or you'll smoke yourself to death."

Fu You hung up.

That guy was annoying too.

Lying on the bed, he stared at the ceiling. Only then did he realize that he had never turned on the lights.

His eyes adapted extremely well to darkness. That was one of the many benefits he had gained from falling into darkness. Compared with a brightly lit room, a dim place like this made him feel more at ease.

With a yawn, he closed his eyes.

After another day of classes, Fu You arrived at the convenience store across from Magical Girls' Apartment as agreed.

He did not transform immediately, merely waiting quietly nearby for Huali to appear.

Only after seeing Huali run out of Magical Girls' Apartment did he enter the dark alley beside it, transform into a Magical Girl, and emerge.

The people around him were not at all surprised by the sudden appearance of a Magical Girl. They simply kept looking her over.

She ignored the others and simply stood to one side, secretly watching the direction Huali would come from.

Magical Girls had existed in this world for more than five hundred years, and people had never found their existence unfamiliar.

Fierce Beasts were a type of monster that had appeared alongside Magical Girls.

Just where Fierce Beasts and Magical Girls had come from remained a matter of debate even now.

It was said that long ago, those who could become Magical Girls were all chosen by Magical Pets. But Magical Pets had disappeared many years ago. Most Magical Girls nowadays awakened suddenly, without any warning, so the appearance of Magical Girls seemingly had no direct connection to Magical Pets.

There had not been much research on Magical Pets. The mainstream belief was that a group of Magical Pets from other worlds had once descended upon humanity, bringing not only the power of Magical Girls, but also the power that turned humans into Fierce Beasts.

Yet according to the accounts of the first generation of Magical Girls, the Magical Pets had detected the power of corruption appearing in the human world and had crossed over specifically to protect it.

No one knew which side was true.

Fierce Beasts were terrifying monsters. They possessed unique energy fields around their bodies. Human weapons could injure them, but such damage was always difficult to make fatal. No one could predict when or where Fierce Beasts would appear.

People only knew that Fierce Beasts did not appear out of thin air. The overwhelming majority were mutated from humans, while some came from animals, though those were relatively few.

Because Fierce Beasts often appeared far too suddenly, it was not realistic to deploy heavy firepower throughout cities to fight them. Thus, Magical Girls had remained the main force against Fierce Beasts to this day.

Besides Magical Girls, some people in this world had also become superpowered individuals. They had their own methods of cultivation, seemingly combining magic with ancient arts to form a unique system of magical growth.

And some others became Witches.

Most Witches were fallen Magical Girls. Having abandoned their duty to protect the light, they embraced the power known as "darkness" and became part of the darkness from then on.

Witches were often violent, greedy, lustful, jealous, arrogant...

Humanity's dark side was always fully expressed through Witches.

Magical Girls who became Witches always grew extraordinarily powerful. Compared with the dim-witted Fierce Beasts, Witches who possessed human intelligence were often the most dangerous and terrifying enemies of Magical Girls.

They wielded the power of corruption. Not only could they defile Magical Girls and turn them into their own kind, they could even infect and control humans.

The Witches' Society was the collective term for human associations that served Witches.

Not every Witches' Society consisted of people controlled by Witches. Humanity had never stopped exploring magic. Some Witches' Societies served Witches solely to uncover the secrets of their power, assisting them in destroying the world, indulging their rampages, and allowing them to massacre civilians, all for the chance to study Witches' bodies.

And now, compared with Fierce Beasts, Witches and the Witches' Society were the greatest enemies of Magical Girls.
