Fu You only walked into the classroom the next morning as the bell rang.
The classroom was noisier than usual. Clearly, the teacher hadn't arrived yet.
Huali lay slumped over his desk, looking somewhat dejected.
Hearing Fu You's footsteps, he raised his head. The moment he saw Fu You, he perked right up.
He swung his legs excitedly for a while, his fair face flushing slightly. "You're here."
"Yeah." Fu You pulled out his chair and sat down.
"I thought you weren't coming."
"I'm not dead. Why wouldn't I come?"
Huali lowered his voice. "Then why are you so late?"
"Slept a little longer."
There was an indescribable sweetness to that tone.
That did fit Pink-Hair's usual demeanor.
But being on the receiving end himself, Fu You couldn't help finding it strange.
Fu You said nothing more. Once the teacher entered, Huali fell silent too, and class began.
As usual, Fu You soon drifted off to sleep. In his groggy state, the hand propping up his cheek suddenly trembled.

Then came a muffled boom in the distance.
The dull explosion wasn't very distinct at that distance. Ignoring the teacher, the boys in the back row stood up and ran to the windows to look out.
