Abyss Witch Visits

In the morning, when he woke up in his apartment, sunlight was already piercing into the room.

That meant he had already missed morning reading class.

He got up and washed up at a leisurely pace.

He was not exactly a serious student anyway. Studying was not his priority at all. At twenty-seven, he had already gone through school and graduated once, so naturally, he did not care about something as minor as skipping class.

The person in the mirror had a fairly tall figure and a choppy short haircut unique to men, yet his skin was astonishingly good.

He touched his face. That smooth, tender sensation really had very little to do with being a man anymore.

He spat out the toothpaste and dried his face.

At twenty-seven, he should not have been in school.

He had considered getting a job, but he went out to fight every few days and occasionally got injured. No company was willing to hire a newcomer who skipped work every day.

Besides, he had many secrets he could not tell outsiders. Whenever an interviewer looked into his records, they would always latch onto questions he truly found difficult to answer.

For example, why did his ID list his gender as female?

If he went back ten years, he truly had been a full-blooded, iron-willed man. Back then, he had been over six feet tall and sturdier than he was now. But the current him was no longer the him from ten years ago.

Looking at himself in the mirror without a shirt on, he secretly shook his head.

If anyone else saw him like this, they would definitely notice that he was not quite so masculine.

A man should not have such delicate skin, such a slender waist, such exquisite curves, or skin with a faint fluorescent sheen.

He was deeply dissatisfied with the police forcibly changing the gender on his ID. He could still be considered a man, yet the Special Incident Response Department believed that, as a Magical Girl, he should be female and had to be female. It was utterly unreasonable.

His morning grooming was finished.

Today, he had to meet the Abyss Witch and also go see that pink Magical Girl.

Both matters gave him a headache.

He pulled open the wardrobe. Most of it was filled with T-shirts.

He scratched his head.

In the corner of the wardrobe sat two long black dresses. Since he had not worn them in a long time, even the labels at the neck had yellowed slightly.

Beside them was a matching pair of black stockings and high heels, along with matching black lace gloves, a choker, hair clips, hair ties, bows, thigh rings, and black gemstone accessories.

He skillfully took out a T-shirt and a pair of dark jeans, put them on, then casually tidied the hair that had become far too messy from sleep in front of the mirror.

The slightly oversized T-shirt concealed his figure. That way, anyone seeing him would only think this man looked somewhat slender, as though he was not very sturdy.

The physical changes brought on by transforming into a Magical Girl would not stop. He knew his body would continue developing further toward that of a Magical Girl.

But as a professional Magical Girl, this transformation was completely unavoidable.

He had considered giving up his identity as a Magical Girl, but other than being a Magical Girl, what else did he have worth continuing to do? Or rather, if he did not become a Magical Girl, then what did all the sacrifices he had made before amount to?

After getting dressed, he spent about five seconds thinking about what to do next.

The place to meet the Abyss Witch obviously could not be school. That might force his classmates to take a holiday. He did not want to give his classmates time off for nothing.

Then he realized a serious problem.

Why had he not confirmed the time and place of the meeting with the Abyss Witch yesterday?

Forget it. The Abyss Witch surely had a way.

"Knock, knock, knock."

The knocking sounded after he had spent two hours playing on his phone.

He walked to the door and pulled it open.

Outside the apartment was a corridor. The single-occupancy apartment building was designed much like a school dormitory, with more than a dozen rooms scattered along the hall.

Standing outside was a woman about the same height as him.

She wore a black layered pleated skirt, black stockings, and black leather shoes. Even her nails and lip gloss were black. Her slightly pale face bore an unusual nervousness and shyness.

The first thing he noticed was the pale skin at her collar.

The low-cut design beautifully emphasized the delicacy of her collarbones.

"Hello. I'm the Abyss Witch."

the woman said.

Her pale body was clearly not well suited to going out during the day. Merely from being exposed to the sun, uneven red blotches had appeared across her skin.

She carried a large bag of fruit in her hand.

Fu You was quite surprised by how polite she was.

A meeting between a Magical Girl and a Witch should not have unfolded like this.

Although not transforming in advance was somewhat disrespectful toward a Witch, a Witch should not have appeared so obediently at his door either.

He looked around. There was not another person in sight.

"Come in."

The apartment was not large, but it had everything it needed. The roughly fifty-square-meter space had a kitchen, bedroom, dining area, balcony, and bathroom.

He invited the Witch inside, closed the door, and had her sit on one of the only two single sofas. He took two bottles of cola from the refrigerator, opened one for himself, and set the other on the coffee table in front of the Abyss Witch.

The Witch kept her head lowered. Though she was quite tall and generously endowed, her shyness and nervousness had her legs pressed tightly together, with both hands tucked between her skirt.

"Why are you so nervous?" he asked.

"Senior You... I-I successfully became a Witch."

"Mm, congratulations." That address, "Senior You," gave him a faint sense that something was wrong.

However, his tone did not change because of it.

"Senior You, you don't mind, do you?" The Witch cautiously raised her head a little. She did not dare look directly at Fu You and could only gaze up at him from beneath her lashes.

Fu You leaned back against the sofa, his eyes continually sizing up the woman.

The woman seemed to sense something. Cautiously, she placed a hand at her collar and secretly pulled it a little lower.

That action made Fu You slap his forehead and look away.

"What would I mind? I'm a Magical Girl. You know that, right?"

"Of course I do..."

"I asked you here to fight. You know that too, right?"

"I know..."

"Then why are you being so polite? Who told you to do this?"

"The Dark Witch. She told me that if I wanted to survive, I should come see you first. I'm sorry, I'm not very good at dealing with Magical Girls. I didn't know what you liked, so I only bought some fruit."

"The Dark Witch? I can't remember your codenames." Fu You sounded somewhat irritated.

"But, Senior You, isn't she your childhood sweetheart?" The Witch was deeply puzzled.

Fu You froze. After a brief silence, he said, "No. I don't have a childhood sweetheart."

"Senior You... but before I became the Abyss Witch... weren't you the Abyss Witch? Aren't the Abyss Witch and the Dark Witch naturally a pair? How could you not know her?"
