Two enormous shadows landed in the center of the island with a pair of thunderous crashes.
The fighting across the island came to a halt.
"He's here too? And he brought his men."
"Hmph. Any other day, I'd turn and run the moment I saw him. But I'm not leaving without Gold Ore today. My brothers can't have died for nothing."
"Third Brother, we're pulling out. We've made enough. Those monsters should be here any moment now."
The two who had dropped from above were Kaido of the Beasts, one of the New World's Four Emperors, and his subordinate, Jack the Drought.
"Get the hell out! Every Gold Mine on this island belongs to me now!"
Kaido's roar swept across the entire island. The force of it blasted rings through the snow around him, sending drifts flying.
The Gold Hunters nearby, already wild with bloodlust, instinctively took a step back. But the greed in their eyes did not fade.
"Zehahaha! Kaido, I've already laid claim to this Gold Ore. How about we kill everyone else on the island and split the gold?"
Blackbeard's offer sounded pleasant enough, but there was not a trace of sincerity in his eyes.
"The Beasts Pirates have no interest in working with a backstabber like you."
An elderly voice came from midair. It belonged to Tillman, an old man with a goatee who held considerable standing in the Beasts Pirates.
Tillman stood steadily above them, as though the air beneath his feet had turned solid. From his stance, he was clearly not flying. He was standing on the air itself.
"Tch. So you're here, Tillman, you old fossil. Looks like the Beasts Pirates really care about this gold."
