"Resolve the problem? How?"
Mingde stared at him blankly. The thugs and rebels of West Town were holed up in the surrounding buildings, and he didn't even know exactly where they were. If nothing had been blocking the way, he would have led a charge long ago, especially with Arudo, a human tank ready to spring into action, beside him.

Kureha knew that too. After hearing Mingde's question, she slipped a small throwing knife from her sleeve. It resembled a Kukri—the kind of curved knife commonly called a dog-leg blade—and she spun it up and down between her fingers.

Mingde followed its path. The knife flew into a building across the Plaza, and sounds of impacts and screams soon came from inside.
Whoosh!
Clang!
Through the window, Mingde saw a silver flash streak across the room. It seemed to strike something, then instantly changed direction, tracing a graceful arc through the air before burying itself in the neck of an enemy hidden behind a bookcase.
Only when the man fell did Mingde realize someone had been hiding there.
"All right, that building's clear." As Mingde stared at her as though he'd seen a ghost, Kureha calmly dusted off her hands and called to the marines beside her. "There are no enemies in that
