Faced with the Undead's tireless, frenzied assault, Lao G was the first to fall. Already missing a leg, he managed only a few effective counterattacks against the unnaturally agile Dellinger before the companion he had watched grow up killed him.
The martial arts he took such pride in were useless against a dead body. Dellinger's body shifted a few times, his broken bones knitted back together, and he rejoined the fight.
"Go, Diamante! Kill them all!"
"Are you an idiot? They're already dead!"
"Exactly! So get in there and tear them apart!"
The Undead fought with even greater ferocity than the living. They knew no fatigue or pain. As long as they could move, they would never stop fighting.
Badly wounded, Diamante did not last much longer. In his condition, he could not cut through those thick iron chains. With nowhere to retreat and no way to escape, he held out only a few minutes longer than Lao G before Machvise, a fellow member of the Diamond Army, bit through his throat.
With no living targets left in the arena, the Undead threw back their heads and roared, then stopped moving all at once.
The spectators in Dressrosa were baffled. Gatz seized the moment to explain. "What's going on? After killing Lord Diamante and Lord Lao G, the Undead warriors seem to have stopped moving!"
Crocodile gave a cold laugh and drew the strange bone greatsword from his back. A faint blue light shimmered along its edge.
