Standing at the bow, Enel shaded his eyes and gazed at the strange island on the horizon. Though it was an island, it looked like a giant, brightly colored cake. Even from here, he could smell its sweet aroma.
The others had long known from newspapers and photographs that such an island existed. But seeing it with their own eyes still stunned them. The Grand Line's endless wonders truly lived up to their reputation.
A wooden Great Dragon totem adorned the ship's prow, surrounded by blue and white depictions of ice crystals, clouds, and the sea. The emblem had appeared on the seas only recently, but everyone gave ships bearing it a wide berth.
Some heeded the Marines' warnings and wanted nothing to do with them. Others simply feared for their lives and dared not let them come close. Across the New World, the latter were far more common.
