"Sengoku..."
Sengoku had just finished a call with Chaton when Garp barged in without knocking. He dropped straight onto the sofa.
"Baa, baa..."
The Little Sheep that was always at Sengoku's side knew Garp well by now and greeted him cheerfully.
Garp had Hard barely pulled a bag of Senbei from his coat when the Little Sheep came over, drawn by the smell. He clutched the bag tightly. "You can't have these. Here, eat this instead."
Spotting a crumpled sheet of wastepaper on the desk, Garp grabbed it and tossed it to the Little Sheep.
The Little Sheep was far from pleased. But from that day on, Garp gave it paper every time he visited. Before long, he had changed the Little Sheep's tastes altogether.
"What is it, Garp?"
Sengoku had mixed feelings about his old partner. Sometimes Garp left him unsure whether to laugh or cry; other times, there was simply no dealing with him. Deep down, though, Sengoku trusted him completely. They had been inseparable partners for years.
Sengoku might have become Fleet Admiral of Marine Headquarters, but he knew the post might not have gone to him if Garp had wanted it. Garp simply had no interest in rank or power.
"Hard just came in. The Revolutionary Army's Inazuma has been captured."
Garp spoke between bites of Senbei.
Sengoku nodded. "That man has always been reliable, hasn't he? I doubt he'll be satisfied with capturing only Inazuma. He may use him as bait."
As he spoke, Sengoku rose from his chair and walked over to Garp. He made a sudden grab for the Senbei, but Garp—who would have given his life for Sengoku—snatched the bag against his chest like a hen protecting her chicks. His eyes went wide. "These are mine! You're not getting any!"
